High-pressure filter elements replaceable fiberglass microfiber filter elements (280–420 bar)
High-pressure filter elements (replaceable fiberglass microfiber filter elements of the HP, FHP, FHM, FMM series and compatible replacements from MP Filtri, Hydac, Parker, AHC, and Hydrolider) are key consumable components designed for uncompromising protection of power hydraulic systems operating under high pressure. Housed in steel and cast iron pressure filter housings on the discharge side of the feed pump, they provide a direct barrier protecting delicate proportional valves, servo valves, valve blocks, as well as motors and actuators from mechanical damage. This category includes a wide range of high-pressure elements adapted for operating pressures from 280 bar to 420 bar and rated flows from 10 l/min to over 450 l/min. Elements are available in a standard version with a bypass valve (opening at Δp = 6 bar) and high-collapse strength elements (High Collapse Δp = 210 bar) designed for filtration without a bypass. Made from multi-layer inorganic fibers (Inorganic Microfiber) with filtration ratings of 3 µm, 6 µm, 10 µm, and 25 µm, these elements guarantee the highest filtration ratio βx ≥ 200 and long-term maintenance of rigorous oil cleanliness classes according to ISO 4406.
Application and technical characteristics of pressure filter elements
High-pressure filter elements are used in the pressure lines of hydraulic circuits in construction, agricultural, forestry, and mining machinery, as well as in stationary industrial presses and power units. Their task is to capture abrasive microparticles generated during pump operation before they lead to the seizure of control spools.
- Multi-layer fiberglass structure: Provides deep volume filtration and very high dust holding capacity with minimal flow resistance.
- High filtration ratio (beta βx ≥ 200): Responsible for effective removal of contaminants ranging from 3 µm to 25 µm, protecting precision servo valves and proportional valves.
- Resistance to pressure spikes and differentials (Δp 21 bar or Δp 210 bar): Elements reinforced with stainless or galvanized steel mesh easily withstand sudden pressure spikes in the pressure circuit.
- Full compatibility with working media: Elements are resistant to standard mineral oils, synthetic oils, and fire-resistant HFD fluids.
- Reliable static sealing: NBR or Viton (FKM) sealing rings eliminate the risk of unfiltered oil bypass around the element.
Why choose high-pressure filter elements from the HYDRON store?
The high-pressure filter elements offered by the HYDRON store are manufactured according to strict ISO 9001 quality guidelines, ISO 2941 (collapse resistance test), and ISO 16889 (Multi-Pass test). A high-quality pressure element is a guarantee of the continuity of operation of the entire machine – its regular replacement prevents extremely expensive failures of piston pumps and distributors. Remember to verify the condition of the element using the differential indicator mounted on the housing head. For the complete construction and service of the pressure system, we recommend selecting other compatible products from our offer, such as complete high-pressure filters, efficient hydraulic piston pumps, flexible high-pressure hydraulic hoses and reliable 700 bar hydraulic valves.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between a Δp = 21 bar and a Δp = 210 bar high-pressure element?
The Δp = 21 bar element is used in filters equipped with a bypass valve (e.g., 6 bar). The Δp = 210 bar element (High Collapse) is intended for filters without a bypass – it has a reinforced steel core that prevents the element from crushing even when completely clogged.
Why is fiberglass used instead of paper in pressure filters?
Fiberglass (Inorganic Microfiber) has a three-dimensional structure with a high beta ratio (βx ≥ 200), which captures much smaller particles and features higher resistance to pressure pulsations compared to ordinary cellulose paper.
How often should a high-pressure filter element be replaced?
A pressure element is replaced according to the machine's maintenance schedule (usually every 500–1000 operating hours) or immediately after the contamination indicator (optical or electrical) on the filter head is triggered.
Are AHC, MP Filtri, and Hydac high-pressure elements interchangeable?
Yes. Elements with standardized dimensions and appropriate code markings are exact 1:1 replacements in terms of dimensions, seal diameters, and filtration efficiency.
