Filling and charging hydraulic accumulators
Filling and pressure control of hydraulic accumulators (nitrogen)
HYDRON offers professional services in checking, inspection as well as filling, charging and refilling hydraulic accumulators (hydraulic energy accumulators) with technical nitrogen. Hydraulic accumulators are key components of power hydraulic systems – they accumulate energy, dampen hydraulic shocks, and compensate for leaks or changes in fluid volume. However, for trouble-free operation, it is necessary to maintain the correct gas pre-charge pressure.
Why are regular inspection and filling so important?
A drop in pre-charge gas pressure leads to a decrease in the efficiency of the entire hydraulic system, and in extreme cases, it can cause damage to the bladder, diaphragm, or piston inside the accumulator.
We offer:
Periodic pre-charge pressure inspection – efficient pressure gauge measurement using professional equipment.
Filling and refilling with technical nitrogen – we use only pure, dry nitrogen for sealing and filling (in accordance with safety standards, we never use air or oxygen).
Filling after repair or bladder/diaphragm replacement – comprehensive preparation of the device for re-operation in the system.
Precise pressure adjustment – adapting the nitrogen pressure values to the individual requirements and operating parameters of your machine.
Equipment and hydraulic accumulators in our offer
We not only provide filling services but also supply a full range of products necessary for the service and expansion of hydraulic systems:
Complete hydraulic accumulators – we offer a wide selection of bladder, diaphragm and piston accumulators adapted for operation in various pressure ranges.
Hydraulic accumulator filling and testing units – we supply mobile testing and filling kits (including universal instruments in cases with a set of adapters, pressure gauges, and pressure hoses matched to nitrogen cylinder standards).
How does the service process at HYDRON look like?
System decompression: Before taking measurements, we remove hydraulic pressure from the oil side of the accumulator.
Connecting the measurement set: We install a dedicated device with a verified pressure gauge and the appropriate threaded fitting (e.g., 5/8" UNF or other adapters).
Measurement and filling: We check the current pressure. In case of a deficiency, we connect a high-pressure hose with a nitrogen cylinder and precisely refill the gas to the value recommended by the manufacturer.
Leakage check: After charging is complete, we verify the tightness of the gas valve.
