Stainless steel hose clips

W2 version clips are clamps with a stainless steel band and a galvanized bolt. The clips feature a strong construction with jaw-style clamping. GBS hose clamps are suitable for heavy-duty connections, thick-walled hoses, hoses with a ribbed outer surface, and suction hoses with a metal or plastic spiral. They are primarily used in agricultural applications and freight transport. The clamps are tightened with a metric hexagonal head bolt and two internal, solid pins, resulting in high clamping force. Purpose of GBS W2 stainless steel clips 

GBS clips are designed for fixing fittings on flexible hoses of all kinds, including those made of very hard rubber, reinforced with textile braid (for air, water, chemicals) or wire (suction and discharge hoses). The clamps are used to connect all types of hoses in every industry. Fastening is done by tightening the clip, which fits very tightly around the hose. 

GBS W2 clips are a reinforced version of standard W1 clips, made of materials more resistant to corrosion. Unlike W1 models, which are made entirely of galvanized steel, W2 clips have a stainless steel band (usually AISI 430 grade), while other elements, such as the bolt, are made of galvanized steel. This makes them suitable for more demanding environmental conditions where W1 might be insufficient, but at the same time, there is no need to use fully stainless W4 or W5 clamps.

Where are GBS W2 clips used? 

Agricultural industry: Irrigation systems exposed to moisture and moderate chemicals. Equipment for transporting liquid fertilizers. Automotive industry: Cooling systems in vehicles where condensation may occur. Exhaust systems in moderately aggressive environments, e.g., in cases of high humidity. Construction industry: Fixing hoses in ventilation and air conditioning systems in damp technical rooms. Rainwater drainage systems in industrial buildings. Marine and shipbuilding industry: Applications in areas exposed to sea spray, but without direct immersion in seawater. Chemical industry: Transport of substances with a low or moderate level of chemical aggressiveness in installations conveying liquids.

When to choose GBS W2 clips instead of W1?

GBS W2 clips are an ideal solution in applications where the environment is moderately aggressive, e.g., with the constant presence of moisture or moderate chemicals. Thanks to the stainless steel band, they provide greater durability than GBS W1 clips, which are better suited for standard conditions, e.g., dry and without contact with chemicals.

Alternative to fully stainless W4 and W5 clamps

In more aggressive environments, such as immersion in seawater, food industry installations, or contact with highly aggressive chemicals, it is necessary to use W4 clamps (full stainless steel, AISI 304) or W5 clamps (acid-resistant steel, AISI 316). W2 clips are a compromise between durability and cost, providing high strength in moderate conditions. The choice of the appropriate type of clamp should be based on an analysis of the working environment, the level of chemical aggressiveness, and the requirements for durability and cost. Material used in W2 clips 

W2 clamps – made of H17 stainless steel sheet, ferritic chrome steel (17% Cr) with good anti-corrosion properties, very good polishing characteristics, high extensibility, and flexibility. The material used favors resistance to water, steam, and moisture, certain acids, and alcohols. Thanks to the stainless steel band, the W2 clamp is more resistant to weather conditions.
