Application of EURO quick coupling plugs

They are also used in construction equipment and in industry, where quick and safe replacement of hydraulic lines is required. Their versatility makes them compatible with various systems, increasing their functionality.

EURO hydraulic fitting 

Universal connector for power hydraulic systems. The EURO hydraulic fitting (also called a EURO-type quick coupling) is a standard connecting element used in power hydraulic systems, enabling fast and tight connection of hydraulic lines without the need for tools. These couplings were developed according to the ISO 7241-A standard, which means they are interchangeable and compatible with most hydraulic quick couplings of this type available on the market. 

What exactly is a EURO fitting and how does it work ?

A EURO hydraulic fitting is a coupling element that constitutes one of the two parts of a quick coupling – it most often connects with a quick coupling socket (female part), creating a complete and tight hydraulic connection. The operating mechanism is simple, but very effective: the fitting has a ball or poppet valve that automatically closes the oil flow after disconnection, upon plugging into the socket the valves open, enabling the free flow of the medium, special seals and springs ensure connection tightness even at high operating pressures. Consequently, EURO-type fittings enable safe, fast, and leak-free connecting and disconnecting of hydraulic lines, which is of great importance in the operation of agricultural, industrial, or construction machinery. Typical EURO fitting is made of hardened carbon steel, protected by a zinc or nickel layer, ensuring high resistance to corrosion, hydraulic oils, and mechanical damage. Components: body (male valve) – part plugged into the socket, internal valve – maintains tightness after disconnection, O-ring seal – guarantees full connection tightness, locking ring / sleeve – secures the connection against accidental disconnection. These fittings are designed to operate at working pressures up to 250–300 bar, depending on the model and manufacturer.

Application of EURO-type hydraulic fittings

EURO fittings are commonly used in machine hydraulic systems where there is a need for frequent line disconnection. They are primarily found in: agricultural machinery – tractors, loaders, trailers, and cultivation machines, construction machinery – excavators, loaders, cranes, industrial and workshop equipment, hydraulic power systems in production plants, systems for quick connection of hydraulic tools. Thanks to standardization (ISO 7241-A), EURO fittings are compatible with many manufacturers and can be used interchangeably in most installations.
