Automotive silicone hoses
Construction of silicone hoses
The straight silicone hose is made of the highest quality silicone and additionally reinforced with 4 layers of polyester fabric. Thanks to its high-quality workmanship, the hose is resistant to hydrolysis. Furthermore, the walls are calibrated, thanks to which they maintain a stable diameter, do not deform, and keep consistent parameters. The silicone hose is resistant to both low and high temperatures in the range of (-40°C ~ +180°C). The hose performs well in oil mist, compressed air, and similar media. Hoses comply with the standard: SAEJ20R1
Application of silicone hoses
Universal silicone hoses / pipes used among others for turbochargers and intercoolers. The offer includes various diameters of straight and elbow hoses. Silicone hoses are widely used in trucks and passenger cars, in air intake and exhaust systems, heating systems for buses and trucks, as well as for air conditioning and cooling systems.
Technical parameters of straight hoses:
- working pressure: max 0.4Mpa
- burst pressure: max 0.8Mpa
- operating temperature:-40°C ~ +180°C
Silicone hoses for the automotive industry
Silicone hoses are widely used in the automotive industry due to their favorable thermal properties, flexibility, durability, and high-temperature resistance. Silicone hoses are used in various automotive systems, including the intake system, cooling system, and fuel system. Here is some information about silicone hoses for automotive use:
- Intake system hoses: Silicone hoses are often used in intake systems to deliver air to the engine. They provide high temperature resistance, which allows the flow of hot air from the turbocharger or compressor without deformation or damage.
- Cooling system hoses: Silicone hoses are also used in engine cooling systems. Due to their high-temperature resistance and flexibility, they can conduct coolant between different elements of the cooling system, such as the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and engine block.
- Fuel system hoses: Silicone hoses can be used in certain parts of the fuel system, such as fuel lines and injector supply lines. Their temperature and chemical resistance make them an attractive solution in this area.
Silicone hoses are also characterized by high flexibility, which facilitates their assembly and disassembly. Additionally, they are available in various sizes, shapes, and colors, allowing them to be matched to the specific needs and aesthetics of the vehicle.
Silicone pipe
A flexible and durable hose for automotive and technical applications. Silicone pipe is one of the most versatile and reliable types of hoses used in automotive, industry, and technical hydraulics. Thanks to its properties, such as high-temperature resistance, flexibility, and tightness, it is widely used in passenger cars as well as in industrial machinery or laboratory installations. Hydron offers high-quality silicone pipes that meet rigorous technical standards and can be used in cooling systems, air systems, vacuum systems, and installations transporting liquids of various chemical compositions.
Intake pipes
Intake pipes are components used in air supply systems that are responsible for delivering the air stream to the engine. The correct operation of the power unit, pressure stability, and the efficiency of the entire intake system depend on their quality and tightness. In modern vehicles, intake pipes must handle high temperatures, variable pressure, and intense vibrations generated by the operation of the engine and turbocharger. In practice, various types of intake pipes are used, including elements made of silicone, which stand out for their greater temperature resistance and durability compared to standard rubber hoses. Silicone intake pipes remain flexible, do not harden, and are resistant to cracking, making them ideal for turbo systems, intercoolers, and cooling systems. Users also value them for their aesthetics and the possibility of matching the color to a tuning project.
Characteristics of silicone pipes
Silicone pipes are made of specialized technical silicone, which stands out for its exceptional durability and resistance to extreme working conditions. The most important features include: thermal resistance – they maintain flexibility in the range from –60°C to +220°C, which allows their use in engine cooling and turbocharger systems, chemical resistance – resistant to coolants, oils, fuels, water vapor, and most chemicals, high flexibility – they do not crack or deform even with frequent changes in temperature or pressure, resistance to aging and ozone – the material does not harden over time, maintaining its properties for many years, safety of use – technical silicone does not contain toxic substances, so it can also be used in the food and laboratory industries.
Application of silicone pipes
Silicone pipes are used wherever traditional rubber hoses are unable to meet high temperatures, aggressive substances, or flexibility requirements. The most common applications are: automotive – engine cooling systems, intake pipes, turbocharger hoses, vacuum systems, fuel lines, breathers, machinery industry – transport of liquids and gases at elevated temperatures, laboratories and food industry – transport of chemically neutral and food-grade liquids, technical hydraulics and pneumatics – flexible connections of working elements requiring thermal resistance and tightness.

Silicone turbo pipe
Why is a silicone pipe referred to as a "silicone turbo pipe"? The term "silicone turbo pipe" refers to a special type of silicone hose that has been designed to work in the boost systems of internal combustion engines — both in passenger cars and in industrial machinery or heavy-duty vehicles. In these systems, the hoses must withstand very high temperatures, pressures, and vibrations, which is why classic rubber hoses would quickly be destroyed. Silicone pipes, thanks to their thermal resistance and flexibility, are an ideal solution in places connecting the turbo, intercooler, intake manifold, and throttle body.
Application of silicone pipes in turbo systems
In the boost system, the silicone pipe performs several key functions: It connects elements of the intake system – turbocharger, intercooler, intake manifold, air filter, mass air flow sensor. It carries compressed air under pressure reaching up to several bars. It maintains the tightness of the system despite large temperature fluctuations and engine vibrations. It protects system components from damage resulting from overheating or vibration. This is why in the automotive and tuning environment, it is common for silicone hoses used in such applications to be colloquially called "silicone turbo pipes" or "turbo hoses."
Features that distinguish silicone turbo pipes
Thermal resistance – typical turbo pipes withstand temperature ranges from –60°C to +220°C, and some reinforced versions (e.g., with an aramid layer) up to +250°C. Pressure resistance – fabric reinforcements (e.g., made of polyester or aramid fiber) allow for safe operation at pressures of 2–5 bar, and temporarily even higher. High flexibility – the hose maintains its shape and tightness even with high vibrations and deflections. Resistance to oil, coolant, and ozone – technical silicone does not oxidize or crack. Long service life – compared to ordinary rubber hoses, silicone turbo pipes have a much longer operating time.
