Internal Thread Test Points for Hoses and Pressure Gauges
Internal thread test points are key elements of diagnostic equipment in power hydraulics. They are used for safe installation of pressure gauges, pressure sensors, and leak-free connection of test micro-hoses (EMA3 standard) directly to high-pressure systems – without the need to shut down the system.
Application and Role of Internal Thread
The main task of internal thread test points is to enable stable and tight screwing of measuring instruments (such as pressure gauges with $1/4''$ NPTF or $1/4''$ BSP male threads) or the connection of adapters and control hoses.
Why Use Dedicated Test Points?
- Safe measurement under pressure: An integrated poppet or ball valve opens automatically only after the test hose is tightened, preventing oil leaks.
- Fast diagnostics and control: They allow for the immediate connection of a pressure gauge to verify operating pressure or perform a pressure test.
- Bleeding and sampling: They facilitate the effective removal of air bubbles from the system and clean extraction of hydraulic oil samples for laboratory testing.
- Protection against contamination: Each coupling features a protective cap with a chain that protects the port from dirt, dust, and moisture.
