O-ring kits - bestsellers !

Below we present a list of bestsellers, i.e., the most frequently sold o-ring kits. In the first place, an o-ring kit metric and an o-ring kit inch ( thicker o-rings ) followed by increasingly popular o-ring kits designed for specific machine models: JCB, CATERPILLAR, KOMATSU, HITACHI, VOLVO, HYUNDAI. All offered kits in convenient boxes. All o-rings are designed for power hydraulics - resistant to all types of hydraulic oils, made of NBR rubber. The list presented here is only a fragment of our offer, which also includes, among others, thin o-rings, high-temperature o-rings, etc.

O-ring set essential in every workshop !

Oil-resistant O-rings are extremely important components in power hydraulic systems because they provide a seal between various components such as pipes, fittings, valves and cylinders. They are made of an elastomer with high resistance to oils and other working fluids used in hydraulics. O-rings are available in various sizes and profiles, allowing them to be matched to a specific application. In our power hydraulics store, you will find the most frequently sold o-ring kits, which are useful in every workshop, company, or even garage.

How to choose the right o-rings ?

It is important to select oil-resistant o-rings suitable for a specific application, taking into account operating parameters such as temperature, pressure, type of working fluid, and other environmental factors. The condition of the o-rings should also be checked regularly and replaced if necessary to ensure the reliability and safety of the hydraulic system.

How are o-rings dimensioned?

O-rings are always dimensioned based on two basic geometric parameters. The first is the internal diameter of the o-ring, designated as d₁, which determines which pin or socket the o-ring will be seated in. Second parameter is the cross-section thickness of the o-ring, designated as d₂, i.e., the diameter of the rubber 'cord' from which the seal is made.

  • In practice, the o-ring size designation is written in the format:d₁ × d₂, for example 20 × 2,5 mm.

Such a notation indicates that the o-ring has an internal diameter of 20 mm and a cross-section thickness of 2.5 mm.

Dimensioning of o-rings is carried out according to specific standards, most often:

  • metric (ISO, DIN),
  • inch (AS, BS),

which is of great importance when selecting an o-ring for a specific installation.

How to choose the o-ring size?

The selection of the o-ring size should always take into account the installation location and the working conditions of the seal. It is crucial whether the o-ring works in a static or dynamic seal, as well as what medium will be sealed and at what pressure.

To correctly select the o-ring size, it is necessary to know:

  • the diameter of the socket or pin,
  • the depth and width of the o-ring groove,
  • the type of seal (axial or radial).

The o-ring must be neither too loose nor too tightly compressed. An o-ring that is too small will not provide a seal, while one that is too large may be damaged during installation or operation. Therefore, the selection of the o-ring size should always be based on the actual dimensions of the socket, and not 'by eye'.

How to read o-ring sizes?

Reading o-ring sizes is based on a proper understanding of the dimensional notation. For example, an o-ring described as 25 × 3 mm means:

  • 25 mm – internal diameter of the o-ring,
  • 3 mm – cross-section thickness of the o-ring.

A common mistake is confusing the internal diameter with the external diameter. It is worth remembering that the external diameter of the o-ring results directly from the formula:

  • outer diameter = d₁ + 2 × d₂.

Knowledge of this notation allows for quick identification of the correct o-ring and avoidance of mistakes when ordering or replacing seals.

How to measure an o-ring diameter?

Measuring an o-ring is best done using a caliper, which allows for accurate values. To correctly measure the o-ring diameter, place it on a flat surface without stretching or deforming. The internal diameter is measured by applying the caliper jaws to the inner edges of the o-ring. The cross-section thickness is measured on the rubber 'cord' itself, also without compressing it. In the case of worn seals, one must take into account that the material may have flattened, so the measurement may not exactly reflect the size of a new seal. If it is not possible to precisely measure the old o-ring, a better solution is to measure the sealing groove in which the o-ring works.

Why is correct o-ring selection so important?

Correct o-ring selection has a direct impact on the tightness, durability, and safety of the entire system. An incorrectly selected o-ring size can lead to leaks, accelerated wear of components, and in power hydraulics even to serious failures.

A well-selected o-ring:

  • provides stable tightness,
  • works evenly in the socket,
  • does not undergo excessive abrasion or extrusion,
  • extends the life of the entire installation.

O-ring selection in practice

In industrial practice, ready-made metric and inch o-ring kits are very often used, which facilitate quick selection of the appropriate size. For more demanding applications, the o-ring material also matters, but the first step should always be to correctly determine the dimensions. Accurate dimensioning and conscious o-ring size selection are the basis for reliable sealing, regardless of whether the o-ring works in hydraulics, pneumatics, automotive, or industrial installations.

O-ring kits as a practical selection solution

Due to the huge variety of o-ring sizes and their applications in various technical systems, dedicated o-ring kits have been created in industrial practice, which significantly facilitate quick and correct seal selection. Instead of searching for an individual size every time, the user has a complete kit of the most frequently used o-rings at their disposal, matched to a specific standard or manufacturer. In power hydraulics, automotive, and machine service, metric o-ring kits, inch o-ring kits, as well as kits dedicated to specific brands and systems such as VOLVO, CAT, or other OEM solutions are very popular. These types of kits contain o-rings with precisely selected internal diameters and cross-sections that correspond to standard sockets used in a given technology. O-ring kits are particularly valued in service and maintenance, where reaction time and the availability of the right seal 'off the shelf' matter. They facilitate size identification, reduce the risk of mistakes, and allow for order in the technical warehouse. In practice, they are not only a convenient but also a very effective organizational solution. Using dedicated o-ring kits is a proven way for faster selection, shorter downtime, and greater certainty that the used seal will be properly matched to a given system.

High-pressure o-rings in power hydraulics

High-pressure o-rings used in power hydraulics are responsible for the tightness of connections operating under heavy load and high working pressure. Hydron offers ready-made o-ring kits that work well in hydraulic services, workshops, and machine maintenance. Thanks to their resistance to hydraulic oils and dimensional stability, high-pressure o-rings are used in actuators, pumps, valves and manifolds. The category includes the most frequently selected kits, matched to the real needs of power hydraulic users.

High-pressure o-rings and complementary elements

In practice, high-pressure o-rings (high-pressure seals) very often cooperate with other sealing and connecting elements, such as metal-rubber and hydraulic fittingswashers, creating tight and durable hydraulic systems. Using high-pressure o-ring kits allows for shorter repair times, reduced machine downtime, and maintenance of stable operating parameters of the power hydraulic installation. Thanks to the wide availability of dimensions, Hydron enables quick and practical selection of o-rings for service and industrial applications.
