Using the latest metallurgy, bearing and seal technologies to produce a hydraulic electric pump, whose features and benefits far exceed the high-pressure electric pumps available today.
What is a pneumatic-hydraulic pump?
A pneumatic-hydraulic pump, also called a compressed air-powered hydraulic pump, is a device that combines two working media: compressed air and hydraulic fluid. Thanks to this solution, it is possible to obtain very high hydraulic pressures, unattainable with the direct use of compressed air. This is an extremely popular solution in industry, workshops and in mobile service applications.
These pumps stand out with their compact design, making them easy to transport and use for mobile work. They can be controlled manually, by foot or automatically – depending on the model. Their construction is durable and resistant to harsh working conditions, which makes them valued in industrial environments. Safety of use is also an advantage. Since the devices are powered by compressed air, they can be used in places where electricity would pose a threat, e.g., in explosion-hazard zones.
What is the principle of operation of a pneumatic hydraulic pump ?
The principle of operation of a pneumatic-hydraulic pump is based on the conversion of compressed air energy into hydraulic energy. Compressed air, usually supplied at a pressure of 3 to 8 bar, drives a piston located inside the pump. This piston transfers its force to the hydraulic fluid, which is compressed and reaches very high pressures – up to 700 bar. The most important elements of the construction are: air chamber – to which compressed air is supplied, piston and cylinder – responsible for energy conversion, control and safety valves – ensuring control and protection against overload, pressure gauges and filters – allowing for maintaining medium cleanliness and precise reading of operating parameters. The entire process is simple, fast and extremely efficient. Just having access to a compressor is enough for the pump to generate the high hydraulic pressure necessary to power actuators, hydraulic wrenches or testing devices.
Application of pneumatic-hydraulic pumps
Pumps of this type are widely used in many industries: heavy industry and construction – powering hydraulic tools, actuators and presses, mining and petrochemistry – safe work in high-risk environments, automotive and tire workshops – operating lifts, crimpers and test equipment, mobile service – thanks to compact dimensions and ease of transport. Pumps of this kind are also used in our crimping machines - to power the head, which crimps the hoses.
