Pneumatically controlled directional valves – flow 80 l/min
The offered hydraulic directional control valves with a pneumatic control section and a nominal flow rate of 80 l/min are designed for integration into systems operating at working pressures up to 300 bar. The use of pneumatic control (control pressure 4–10 bar) is a technical alternative to solenoid valve control, eliminating the risk of electromagnetic coil failure and the phenomenon of solenoid heating in continuous duty cycles. These devices are equipped with an integrated relief valve, protecting the pump against pressure spikes, and the monoblock design minimizes the risk of external leaks between sections.
In systems with such high efficiency, system integrity depends on the quality of the connection equipment. We recommend using 4SP/4SH hydraulic hoses, which have an appropriate safety factor for working pressures occurring in construction machinery. For precise positioning of cylinders, especially in machines requiring load stability, it is worth including in the circuit hydraulic pilot check valves. Real-time pressure monitoring is enabled by 63 mm bottom entry pressure gauges, which should be mounted directly on the directional valve blocks for quick system diagnostics.

Performance characteristics
- Spool design with fit tolerance allowing for operation at high pressures with minimal internal leakage.
- Possibility of configuring sections with type 1 spools (closed in neutral), 2 (for double-acting cylinders) and 3 (floating).
- High resistance to material fatigue of the cast iron body under cyclic load changes.
- Easy adaptation to manual control in emergency situations (optional service levers).
- Full compatibility with metric and inch connections (reduction adapters available).
FAQ – Technical aspects
Does the 80 l/min directional valve require the use of an external safety valve?
As standard, these directional valves have an integrated relief valve (PRV). However, if the system has multiple pressure sources or long supply lines, it is recommended to use additional safety measures in the connection block.
How to choose the right type of spool for controlling a double-acting cylinder?
For double-acting hydraulic cylinders, a type 2 spool should be used, which in the neutral position cuts off the oil supply to both chambers, locking the cylinder, and at the same time connects both ports to the return, unloading the system.
Will a change in control pressure (pneumatic) affect the spool operation?
Pressure below 4 bar may result in incomplete spool switching, leading to flow throttling and excessive oil temperature increase inside the directional valve.
