Pneumatically controlled hydraulic directional control valves – flow up to 40 l/min
Compact hydraulic directional control valves with a rated flow of 40 l/min, equipped with pneumatic actuators, are the optimal solution for power hydraulic systems with lower demand for medium capacity, where precision and control response speed are the priority. These devices are designed to operate at working pressures reaching 250 bar in main ports (P) and up to 300 bar in working circuits (A, B). The use of pneumatic control allows for smooth operation of sections without the need to run electrical wiring to the valve, which significantly increases operational safety in explosive or high-humidity environments.
In smaller hydraulic systems, used among others in mini-loaders or agricultural attachments, maintaining tightness at every stage of the installation is key. To correctly connect the system to the power supply, we recommend using 1SN hydraulic hoses, which offer appropriate flexibility while maintaining full pressure resistance. To ensure the longevity of components during intensive use, it is necessary to take care of oil cleanliness, which will be facilitated by regularly used suction filters for tanks. In case of the need for branches in the control system, the ideal solution will be straight threaded fittings, providing a reliable seal without the risk of control pressure drops.
Functional and design advantages
- Compact monoblock construction ideal for installation in spaces with limited accessibility.
- Low internal flow resistance thanks to optimized oil channels inside the body.
- High control precision thanks to the use of high-quality spool seals.
- Possibility of quick conversion from pneumatic to manual mode for service purposes.
- High versatility of applications – from forestry machines to mobile and stationary systems.

FAQ – Questions and answers
Can a 40 l/min valve work with pumps of higher capacity?
It is recommended that the pump capacity does not exceed the nominal flow of the valve. Excess oil above 40 l/min can generate excessively high flow velocities inside the valve, which leads to increased temperature and pressure losses.
What is the difference between pneumatic and electric control in this flow class?
Pneumatic control is more reliable in high humidity conditions and does not require an electrical power supply. It is a mechanical solution controlled by compressed air, which eliminates the risk of burning out a solenoid coil.
What air pressure is required for the correct operation of the actuators?
The optimal range of control pressure is 3–8 bar. Too low pressure can prevent the spool from moving completely, which will cause internal leakage and oil heating.
