The SEMPERIT FKD DN19x3,5 hose is a flexible rubber conduit designed for internal combustion engine cooling circuits. The internal diameter is 19 mm (3/4"), the wall thickness is 3,5 mm, and the outer diameter is 26 mm. The inner EPDM rubber layer is resistant to hot water and appropriately selected anti-freeze fluids. Two textile reinforcements strengthen the construction, and a smooth EPDM cover protects against aging, ozone, and atmospheric factors. The FKD-R hose operates at pressures up to 6 bar, in a temperature range from -40°C to +120°C.

Application in cooling systems

The SEMPERIT FKD hose is designed for transporting coolant in internal combustion engine systems. It can be used for flexible connection of cooling circuit components through which hot water or a compatible water-antifreeze mixture flows. It is used in vehicle and machine installations if their temperature, pressure, and medium composition correspond to the hose parameters.

Before installation, glycol concentration and additives present in the coolant should be taken into account. The hose made of EPDM is not a universal hose for fuels, mineral oils, or high-pressure hydraulics. For such applications, a product with confirmed chemical resistance is required.

EPDM rubber resistant to hot water and aging

The inner layer made of smooth EPDM rubber was selected for operation with hot water and antifreeze fluids in cooling systems. The material remains resistant to aging under the influence of high temperature within the limits specified for the hose. The outer cover, also made of EPDM, is resistant to ozone and atmospheric conditions. The black, smooth surface facilitates hose routing and condition monitoring during inspections.

Two textile plies and 6 bar pressure

The reinforcement consists of two textile plies placed between the rubber layers. They limit hose deformation under pressure in the installation. The manufacturer specifies the maximum working pressure at 6 bar and a safety factor of 2,5:1. This does not mean it can operate above the nominal value. In closed systems, especially at extreme temperatures, the permissible loads of the entire connection should be checked.

DN19x3,5 dimensions and bending radius

The designation DN19x3,5 refers to an internal diameter of 19 mm and a wall thickness of 3,5 mm. The outer diameter is 26 mm. The minimum bending radius according to the current SEMPERIT documentation is 115 mm. When routing the hose, avoid kinks, twisting, and stress at the fittings, which can shorten the connection life.

Installation and selection of connections

Fittings and appropriate fastening elements should be selected for the hose, taking into account the internal diameter of 19 mm, wall thickness, and operating conditions of the system. Connections must be secured against the hose slipping off and their tightness checked. Fittings and clamps are not automatically part of the product equipment; their presence depends on the order scope. When selecting, the requirements of the device and the influence of temperature on the security of the connections must be taken into account.
