The Semperit FKD DN32x5,5 mm hose is a flexible rubber tube designed for cooling systems of internal combustion engines. The internal diameter is 32 mm (1 1/4 inch), the wall thickness is 5,5 mm, and the external diameter is 43 mm. Made of EPDM rubber, the hose is resistant to hot water, hot air and anti-freeze agents used in cooling circuits. Two textile plies strengthen the construction. According to Semperit FKD-R documentation, the working pressure is up to 6 bar, and the temperature range is from -40°C to +120°C.

Application in engine cooling systems

The FKD hose is designed for transporting coolant in internal combustion engine installations, including flexible connections of cooling circuit elements. The EPDM material ensures resistance to hot water and appropriate anti-freeze agents, including properly selected water-glycol mixtures. The hose can also be used in other cooling installations, provided the medium, pressure and temperature comply with the hose requirements.

Before selection, the composition of the coolant, glycol concentration and chemical additives should be taken into account. EPDM hose is not a universal hose for mineral oils, fuels or power hydraulic systems. For such applications, a hose with separately confirmed material resistance is required.

EPDM construction with textile reinforcement

The internal layer of the hose is made of black, smooth EPDM rubber intended for contact with cooling system media. Two textile plies strengthen the construction, limiting deformation during operation. The outer cover, also made of EPDM, is resistant to aging under the influence of ozone and weather conditions. The smooth finish facilitates routing the hose in the installation.
