Lever-controlled hydraulic control valves with a flow up to 80 l/min

Hydraulic control valves with a nominal flow of 80 l/min are advanced control blocks designed to manage the direction and flow rate of the working medium in power hydraulics systems with medium and high power requirements. These devices are used directly in construction, agricultural, and forestry machinery, as well as in stationary power units where high control process stability is required. Thanks to the use of precisely fitted spools, these valves ensure high repeatability of operation while limiting energy losses. These are open or closed center units, optimized for operation in systems with constant displacement pumps.

Application and technical characteristics

The bodies of 80 l/min control valves are made of spheroidal cast iron, which guarantees high resistance to material fatigue under frequent load changes. The devices are adapted to work at operating pressures reaching 250 bar (in ports P, A, B) and a return pressure in port T of up to 50 bar. Compatibility with working media includes hydraulic oils meeting the requirements of the DIN 51524 standard, allowing for safe operation in a wide temperature range from -40°C to +60°C.

To maintain the required oil cleanliness class (according to ISO 4406), in systems with our control valves, we recommend using professional immersion tank filters. The stability of hydraulic connections in the installation is ensured by certified single pipe mounting clamps, which eliminate mechanical vibrations transmitted from the hydraulic pump. To ensure tightness at the connection points, we recommend using metal-rubber washers and BSP type threaded fittings, which minimizes the risk of external leaks.

Why choose our components?

Our components stand out for minimal internal spool leakage, which is technically important for maintaining the load by hydraulic cylinders without the dropping effect. Each block is equipped with an integrated relief valve, protecting the system against the effects of sudden pressure spikes. In advanced systems where there is a need to control many sections, we offer the possibility of expanding the system through control valve sections. Thanks to the standardization of connections, the replacement or service of units takes place efficiently, without the need for interference in the structure of the rest of the hydraulic system.

FAQ – engineering questions and answers

1. Can an 80 l/min control valve be used in a system with a 100 l/min pump?
We recommend matching the nominal flow with the pump capacity. Too high a flow relative to the rated flow for a given control valve causes excessive pressure drops and an increase in oil temperature, which negatively affects the service life of seals and spools.

2. How to protect the system against pressure increasing above the norm?
Each of our control valves has an integrated relief valve. It should be precisely adjusted according to the maximum allowable operating pressure for the entire system to protect the pumps and other components from damage.

3. What are the main differences between a type A spool and a type B spool?
The difference concerns the configuration of the ports in the neutral position. A type A spool (so-called open center) connects all ports to the return, while a type B spool (closed center) cuts off the working ports, allowing the cylinder to be locked in the desired position without the risk of displacement under load.
