Pipe and hose clamps heavy series DIN 3015 2
Reinforced pipe and hose clamps DIN 3015. What are heavy series pipe clamps? Heavy series pipe clamps are specialized mounting elements used for securing pipes, hoses, and other components in industrial, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. They are designed to withstand high mechanical loads, vibrations, and extreme operating conditions, making them indispensable in demanding applications.
Construction of heavy series pipe clamps
These clamps stand out for their solid construction, which ensures durability and safety of use. They consist of several key elements: Body – made of durable materials such as steel, stainless steel, or high-resistance plastics. Damping inserts – most often made of rubber or other elastomers, which reduce vibrations and protect pipes from damage. Fastening elements – bolts, nuts, and mounting plates ensure stable attachment of the clamp to the supporting structure.
Where heavy series clamps are used
Heavy series clamps are used wherever standard clamps do not meet requirements. Typical applications include: Hydraulic installations – in systems for transporting liquids under high pressure. Oil and gas industry – for securing transmission pipes. Construction and agricultural machinery – in places exposed to high vibrations and mechanical forces. Marine industry – for securing pipes in difficult environmental conditions, such as salt water and humidity. Power engineering – in heat, steam, or other media transmission installations.
Technical parameters of the clamps
- Clamp material: polypropylene.
- Clamp color: green.
- Operating temperature:-30ºC to +90ºC.
- Top plate material: galvanized carbon steel.
- Bottom plate material: phosphated carbon steel.
- Mounting bolts: galvanized carbon steel, hexagonal bolt head.
What are DIN 3015-2 hydraulic clamps?
The DIN 3015-2 standard refers to so-called heavy-duty clamps (heavy duty), which are used for solid fastening of pipes, lines and hoses in hydraulic and industrial installations. These are elements designed to work under conditions of high mechanical loads, vibrations, and high pressures. Unlike the light series (DIN 3015-1), the DIN 3015-2 series clamps are characterized by a reinforced construction and greater stability, thanks to which they provide reliable mounting even in the most demanding applications.
Construction and materials of DIN 3015-2 clamps
Clamps of this type are usually made of materials such as polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA), or metals – aluminum or stainless steel. Additional elastomer inserts or ribbed internal surfaces are also often used to limit pipe movement and dampen vibrations. Their modular construction allows for easy installation and replacement of elements – each clamp consists of two halves (lower and upper), a mounting plate, a cover, and mounting bolts. This solution enables rapid assembly and disassembly of lines without the need to disturb the entire installation.
Application of heavy-duty DIN 3015-2 clamps
Clamps compliant with DIN 3015-2 are mainly used in: power hydraulic installations, industrial pipelines and technological installations, construction and agricultural machinery, steel structures and media transport systems. Thanks to high resistance to vibrations and impacts, these clamps perform excellently in mobile machines and in systems where lines are exposed to dynamic loads.
Range of dimensions and compatibility with other systems
DIN 3015-2 clamps cover a wide range of diameters – from a few millimeters to lines with a diameter over 100 mm. The most common sizes are 1", 1½", 2", and 3", which correspond to typical dimensions of hydraulic and steel pipes. Clamp dimensions – such as height, width, bolt spacing, or hole diameter – have been precisely defined in the standard, which guarantees full interchangeability of elements between different manufacturers. Thanks to this, components from different suppliers can be combined without any problem, maintaining dimensional and technical compatibility.
Advantages of DIN 3015-2 clamps
Heavy series versions are characterized by additional structural reinforcements. Thicker walls, larger mounting plates, and sturdier bolts mean that these clamps can safely operate at high pressures and stresses. For lines exposed to vibrations or high pressure, it is recommended to use clamps with a rubber insert, which damps vibrations and protects the pipe surface from damage. This type of solution significantly extends the service life of the hydraulic installation.
Installation of hydraulic clamps in practice
When installing DIN 3015-2 clamps, it is worth remembering a few rules: the first clamp should be placed as close as possible to the fitting or cable entry point to limit vibration transmission, recommended distances between mounting points should be maintained according to the manufacturer's guidelines, and for installation in aggressive environments, clamps made of stainless steel or with an anti-corrosion coating should be used. Adherence to these rules ensures the durability, safety, and reliability of the entire hydraulic installation.
