Correct selection of crimping dies
We select the dies according to the crimping table for the size of the crimped hose - the rule is that we always select the dies closest to the dimension we want to achieve. All dies are marked, meaning they have a stamped number with their size. One set of dies consists of 8 individual crimping stones. The dies are properly hardened, which prevents their destruction or damage. We mount the dies on so-called master dies in the crimper head - they take a direct part in the hydraulic hose crimping process.
Most common errors in crimping die selection
- Incorrect die size – dies that are too small can damage the hose, while dies that are too large will not provide proper pressure.
- Using the wrong profile – different types of fittings require appropriately profiled dies to ensure correct pressure around the entire circumference.
