Equipment for skiving hydraulic hoses

We offer equipment and machines for skiving (devices for removing the outer or inner rubber layer of the hose) hydraulic hoses. Skiving involves stripping the outer or inner surface of the hydraulic hose at the point where we intend to crimp the fitting and the crimp ferrule. Skiving is necessary for 4SP hoses, 4SH with increased pressure. Depending on the number of hoses we plan to skive, manual and electric skivers are available. Manual hose skivers 

Manual skivers are ideal for smaller workshops and mobile services due to their compactness and ease of transport. An example is the manual hose skiver for 2" hoses (economical) S51M, which enables skiving of hoses up to DN50 (2"). The set includes mandrels for external skiving in the range of 3/8" to 2", allowing the device to be adjusted to different hose sizes. Thanks to manual operation, the device is independent of power sources, which increases its mobility and versatility of applications. A manual skiver is the most affordable option. 

Electric hose skiver :

Electric skivers are characterized by greater efficiency and precision, making them suitable for larger production plants and high-intensity workshops. The model hydraulic hose skiver 51ESC enables fast and accurate skiving of hoses up to DN50 (2"). Thanks to the electric drive, the process is more efficient, and the adjustment of operating parameters allows the device to be tailored to specific user needs. The set includes mandrels for external and internal skiving, which increases the versatility of the device.

The choice between a manual and an electric skiver depends on the nature of the business, frequency of use, and requirements for precision and work efficiency. For smaller workshops and mobile services, manual skivers will be more suitable, while for larger production plants, the use of electric skivers is recommended.

Basic principles of hydraulic hose skiving 

We skive down to the steel braid, we skive multi-spiral hoses such as 4SP, 4SH, 6SH. We can skive hydraulic hoses with one or two steel braids (1SN, 2SN) but it is not required - the old school does this - skiving improves the mounting of the hose ferrule on the hydraulic hose, thereby eliminating the possibility of the hose fitting"slipping out". It is important to skive the hose to a length slightly less than the length of the applied crimp ferrule - during crimping, the ferrule elongates slightly.
