The DN06 1SC hydraulic hose is a compact high-pressure hose with a single steel braid, designed for working with hydraulic oil in power hydraulic systems. The nominal diameter DN06 corresponds to the 1/4" size, which is why the hose is often used in machines, industrial devices, and installations where a small external diameter and good flexibility are important.

The 1SC construction is thinner and more compact than classic 1SN hoses of a similar nominal size. This allows the hose to be routed more easily in tight spaces while maintaining high resistance to working pressure. For this variant, the maximum working pressure is 230 bar.

What does 1SC construction mean?

The 1SC symbol stands for a compact hydraulic hose with one steel braid. The letter C refers to the compact construction, which for the same application class allows for a smaller external diameter than in many classic single-braid hoses.

As a result, the 1SC hose works well where installation space is limited and the hose must be routed between machine elements, a frame, or a hydraulic assembly.

DN06 and 1/4" - how to understand the size?

DN06 means a nominal internal diameter of about 6 mm. In the inch system, this corresponds to the 1/4" size.

When selecting a fitting and crimp ferrule, however, the DN06 designation alone is not enough. The 1SC construction must also be taken into account, as the external diameter and geometry of the hose differ from 1SN, 2SN, or 2SC variants.

Single steel braid

The hose reinforcement consists of a single braid made of high-strength steel wire. The braid carries the loads generated under pressure and stabilizes the hose construction during operation.

The rubber layer protects the steel reinforcement from environmental influences, abrasion, and typical operating conditions occurring in hydraulic machines and equipment.

230 bar working pressure

The maximum working pressure of the DN06 1SC hose is 230 bar. This value should be treated as the operating parameter of the specific product.

After the complete hose is made, its allowable pressure also depends on the fittings, ferrules, crimping method, and parameters of other elements of the installation. The entire system can only operate up to the allowable value for the weakest component.

Hose working temperature

The current technical data of the product indicates an operating range from -30°C to +100°C and the possibility of short-term operation at temperatures up to +125°C.

At high temperatures, not only the ambient temperature but also the hydraulic oil temperature and the influence of neighboring machine elements, such as the engine, exhaust system, or radiator, should be taken into account.

NBR for hydraulic oil

The inner layer is made of NBR rubber, which is commonly used in hydraulic hoses intended for mineral oils and typical hydraulic fluids.

When using an unusual medium, its chemical compatibility with the hose material should always be checked.

1SC vs 1SN - how do they differ?

The 1SC hose is a compact hose. For a similar application, it usually has a smaller external diameter and allows for tighter installation routing than the classic 1SN.

However, this does not mean that fittings and ferrules intended for both constructions can be used interchangeably. Always use the crimping table for the specific hose type.

How to choose a ferrule for DN06 1SC?

A crimp ferrule intended for the DN06 1SC construction should be used for this hose. The ferrule must correspond to the external diameter of the hose and the fitting used.

Do not select the ferrule solely on the basis of the 1/4" designation, as different hydraulic hose constructions occur in the same size.

Crimping fittings on a hydraulic press

Hydraulic fittings are mounted on this hose by crimping. The hose, fitting, and ferrule form one set, which is placed in properly selected crimper dies.

Achieving the correct diameter after crimping is crucial. Too weak a crimp can lead to the fitting slipping out, while an excessive crimp can damage the hose or the internal part of the fitting.
