The straight BSP 1/2" / M27x1.5 18L connector is a hydraulic adapter designed for making connections between components equipped with inch and metric threads. It has two external threads: BSP 1/2" and M27x1.5. The metric side is equipped with a 24° sealing cone in the 18L light version. The body is made of galvanized free-cutting steel. The product is intended for hydraulic systems using hydraulic oil.

Application and technical characteristics

The BSP 1/2" / M27x1.5 18L hydraulic adapter allows for the connection of compatible power hydraulics installation components. One side has an external inch BSP 1/2" thread, while the other has an external metric M27x1.5 thread. The straight design allows for a connection in a single axis.

The metric connection is made in the 18L light series with a 24° sealing cone angle. During assembly, the compatibility of both threads, the connection size, and the geometry of the sealing surfaces should be verified. Selecting the appropriate mating component is essential to achieve a leak-proof hydraulic connection.

M27x1.5 vs M27x2 thread – what to look out for?

The described connector has an M27x1.5 metric thread with a pitch of 1.5 mm. It should not be confused with an M27x2 adapter, where the thread pitch is 2 mm. Despite having the same nominal diameter, these threads differ in pitch and should not be used interchangeably.

Before purchasing, it is advisable to check the marking on the old connector or measure the thread pitch with an appropriate thread gauge. Compatibility of the 24° cone and the 18L connection size should also be confirmed. Measuring the external thread diameter alone is not sufficient to distinguish between M27x1.5 and M27x2.

Application in agricultural and industrial machinery

The BSP 1/2" / M27x1.5 18L connector is used in hydraulic installations of agricultural, orchard, forestry, and construction machinery, as well as in industrial equipment. It can be used during the assembly and replacement of appropriately selected fasteners. Galvanized free-cutting steel is the material used for the adapter body.
