Straight BB hydraulic fittings - nipples
Straight threaded connectors for connecting hydraulic hoses, professionally referred to as a straight fitting body. The most popular type of connectors used in the power hydraulics industry, intended for connecting hydraulic hoses and threaded elements. The offer includes straight BB fittings (external thread / external thread) designed for connecting power hydraulic components. Connectors designated as a straight fitting body or commonly referred to as steel hydraulic connectors. Some use the terms "hydraulic nipples" or "metal stubs". Connectors made of galvanized steel. We have metric fittings, reducing fittings as well as inch - metric fittings. Manufactured according to standards: EN ISO 8434-1 (DIN 2353), Polish Standard (PN-65/M-73141). It is possible to order complete fittings together with a cutting ring and a union nut.
What is a straight hydraulic connector?
Straight BB fittings are fastening elements used in hydraulic installations, characterized by two external threads. Thanks to their universal design, they are widely used in transmission and distribution systems in many industrial sectors. The construction allows for connecting hydraulic hoses in a durable, leak-proof manner that is resistant to high pressures.
How straight connectors are constructed
A straight fitting with two external threads is an element that allows for connecting two hydraulic or pneumatic components equipped with internal threads. On both ends there is an external thread, which allows for a secure and tight connection in systems operating under high pressure. Hydraulic connectors have an appropriate cone on both sides. A characteristic element of the fitting's construction is the hexagon located on its body. It is used for convenient assembly or disassembly using a standard open-end wrench. Such a structure ensures fast and reliable assembly, even in hard-to-reach places. Fittings of this type are available with various thread standards, including metric and inch (e.g., BSP, NPT).
Straight screw-in connectors
Why do we call straight connectors screw-in fittings? Fittings are called screw-in connectors due to their assembly method, which involves mechanical tightening of elements such as nuts, sealing rings and fittings. This process allows for achieving a durable, tight, and robust connection in hydraulic installations. Threaded screw-in fittings are widely used in systems where ensuring the reliability of connections under high pressure is crucial.
What are straight fittings used for?
Application of straight connectors: connecting pipes and hydraulic hoses. Straight connectors, especially metric ones, can be screwed with both precision tube, as well as hydraulic hose fittings. In the case of pipes, tightening with a cutting ring causes it to permanently bite into the pipe, which guarantees the tightness and stability of the connection. In contrast, in installations with hydraulic hoses, tightening ensures secure fastening of the fitting, eliminating the risk of leaks. The advantage of this type of fittings is their versatility – they can be used with both metal elements and flexible hoses. Additionally, ease of assembly and disassembly makes them ideal for systems requiring regular maintenance or modification. The main application of straight fittings is joining hydraulic hoses and various elements. We can connect two hoses in order to extend them or use fittings to reduce threads (in which case we use straight reducing fittings).
Types of straight connectors by thread:
- metric straight connectors
- inch straight connectors
