Description
TWIN R8 DN10 212 bar PREMIUM thermoplastic hose (3/8" twin)
TWIN R8 DN10 212 bar PREMIUM thermoplastic hose is a specialized, double (twin) high-pressure line designed for use in advanced power hydraulic systems where parallel operation of two pressure or supply-return lines is required. The PREMIUM class hose meets the rigorous requirements of international standards SAE 100 R8, EN 855 R8, and ISO 3949. Two tubular hoses connected to each other with a nominal diameter of DN10 (3/8" – approx. 9.5 mm) are characterized by an allowable working pressure of 212 bar. Thanks to the use of an internal polyester or polyamide core, a double synthetic fiber (aramid) braid, and an outer cover made of abrasion-resistant polyurethane (PU), the hose features low weight, negligible longitudinal deformation under pressure, and resistance to harsh environmental conditions. The TWIN R8 double hose is used in forklift masts, basket lifts, HDS loader cranes, work platforms, winches, as well as construction and industrial machinery.
Application, construction, and advantages of the TWIN R8 DN10 thermoplastic hose
Combined hydraulic conductivity in TWIN type hoses allows for eliminating the problem of individual lines tangling on rollers and in chain guides of masts and telescopic booms.
- Integrated twin construction (TWIN): Two lines connected together form a compact and organized bundle, facilitating installation routing on pulleys, rollers, and in machine chain guides.
- Working pressure 212 bar: Double braid made of high-strength synthetic yarn (aramid fibers) ensures resistance to pressure surges while maintaining a 4:1 safety factor (burst pressure is min. 848 bar).
- Outer polyurethane (PU) cover: Characterized by very high resistance to abrasion, tearing, UV radiation, ozone, atmospheric factors, as well as oils and fuels.
- Low weight and small bending radius: Thermoplastic hoses are lighter than traditional steel-braided rubber hoses, and the flexible polyurethane allows for smooth routing of the line on small-diameter rollers.
- Wide operating temperature range: Resistant to continuous operation in temperatures from -40°C to +100°C for hydraulic oils and up to +70°C for water-based fluids and air.
What to combine the TWIN R8 DN10 hose with and how to avoid assembly errors?
TWIN R8 DN10 (3/8" – internal diameter approx. 9.5 mm) double thermoplastic hose works with professional crimpable components:
- Dedicated fittings for thermoplastic hoses (R7 / R8): Standard metric (DKOL/DKOS, CEL/CES), inch BSP (DKR, AGR), JIC, and ORFS fittings made with a smaller tail thickness for the plastic core.
- Crimp ferrules for thermoplastic hoses: Dedicated smooth ferrules without internal teeth (R7/R8 DN10 ferrules), which do not puncture the hard plastic core.
- Assembly of twin lines is performed on service and production presses, such as hose crimping machines.
- A full selection of matching connectors is offered by hose crimp fittings.
During the assembly of twin hoses, it should be noted that the thermoplastic core has different deflection and crush characteristics than a rubber hose. Dedicated ferrules for thermoplastic hoses and fittings without deep grooves on the tail should be used for crimping R8 hoses to avoid cutting the polyester core. Additionally, the correct crimp dimension specified in the manufacturer's table must be maintained. Before separating both cores at the ends of the installation, it is recommended to carefully cut the rubber-plastic connector without damaging the outer layer of the lines.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What characterizes the TWIN R8 thermoplastic hose?
The TWIN R8 hose is a double (twin) thermoplastic line consisting of two permanently connected cores with synthetic braid reinforcement. It is characterized by high pressure strength (212 bar for DN10), low weight, small bending radius, and abrasion resistance.
Where are TWIN R8 DN10 twin hoses most commonly used?
They are used wherever there is a need for parallel routing of two hydraulic lines in tight spaces, including on forklift masts, basket lifts, HDS loader cranes, loaders, and winches.
What ferrules and fittings should be used for the R8 thermoplastic hose?
For R8 thermoplastic hoses, dedicated ferrules for thermoplastic hoses (R7/R8) without deep internal teeth and fittings adapted to hard plastic cores should be used.
What is the working pressure of the TWIN R8 DN10 hose?
The allowable working pressure is 212 bar, and its burst pressure is a minimum of 848 bar (4:1 safety factor).
