Description
Thermoplastic hose TWIN R8 DN08 350 bar PREMIUM (5/16" twin)
The Thermoplastic hose TWIN R8 DN08 350 bar PREMIUM is a specialized, double (twin) high-pressure line designed for use in advanced power hydraulic systems, where parallel operation of two pressure or supply-return lines is required. This PREMIUM class hose meets the rigorous requirements of international standards SAE 100 R8, EN 855 R8 and ISO 3949. Two tubular hoses with a nominal diameter of DN08 (5/16" – approx. 7.9 mm) joined together are characterized by a permissible working pressure of 350 bar. Thanks to the use of an internal polyester or polyamide core, a double synthetic fiber (aramid) braid and an outer cover made of abrasion-resistant polyurethane (PU), the hose is characterized by low weight, minimal longitudinal deformation under pressure and resistance to harsh environmental conditions. The TWIN R8 double hose is widely used in forklift masts, aerial platforms, HDS loading cranes, work platforms, winches as well as construction and industrial machinery.
Application, construction and advantages of the TWIN R8 DN08 thermoplastic hose
The combined hydraulic conductivity in TWIN type hoses allows to eliminate the problem of individual hoses tangling on rollers and in chain guides of masts and telescopic booms.
- Combined twin construction (TWIN): Two connected hoses form a compact and organized bundle, facilitating the routing of the installation on pulleys, rollers and in machine chain guides.
- High working pressure 350 bar: Double high-strength synthetic yarn braid (aramid fibers) provides resistance to pressure surges while maintaining a 4:1 safety factor (burst pressure is min. 1400 bar).
- Outer polyurethane (PU) cover: Characterized by very high resistance to abrasion, tearing, UV radiation, ozone, atmospheric factors as well as oils and fuels.
- Low weight and small bending radius: Thermoplastic hoses are lighter than traditional steel-braided rubber hoses, and the flexible polyurethane allows for smooth routing of the hose on small diameter rollers.
- Wide range of operating temperatures: Resistant to constant operation in the temperature range from -40°C to +100°C for hydraulic oils and up to +70°C for water-based fluids and air.
What to combine the TWIN R8 DN08 hose with and how to avoid assembly errors?
The TWIN R8 DN08 double thermoplastic hose (5/16" – internal diameter approx. 7.9 mm) works with professional crimpable components:
- Dedicated fittings for thermoplastic hoses (R7 / R8): Standard metric (DKOL/DKOS, CEL/CES), inch BSP (DKR, AGR), JIC and ORFS fittings made with a smaller tail thickness for the plastic core.
- Ferrules for thermoplastic hoses: Dedicated smooth ferrules without internal teeth (R7/R8 DN08 Ferrules), which do not puncture the hard plastic core.
- Crimping machines: Assembly of twin hoses is performed on service and production presses, such as hose crimpers.
- Dedicated fittings: A full selection of matching connectors is offered by hose crimp fittings.
When assembling twin hoses, remember that the thermoplastic core has different bending and compression characteristics than a rubber hose. For crimping R8 hoses, dedicated ferrules for thermoplastic hoses and fittings without deep serrations on the tail should be used to avoid cutting the polyester core. It is also necessary to maintain the correct crimp dimension given in the manufacturer's table. Before separating both lines at the ends of the installation, it is recommended to carefully cut the rubber-plastic connector without damaging the outer layer of the hoses.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the characteristics of the TWIN R8 thermoplastic hose?
The TWIN R8 hose is a double (twin) thermoplastic line, consisting of two permanently connected cores with synthetic braid reinforcement. It is characterized by high working pressure (350 bar for DN08), low weight, small bending radius and excellent abrasion resistance.
Where are TWIN R8 DN08 twin hoses most commonly used?
They are used wherever there is a need to route two hydraulic lines in parallel in tight spaces, including forklift masts, aerial lifts, HDS cranes, loaders and winches.
What ferrules and fittings should be used for the R8 thermoplastic hose?
For R8 thermoplastic hoses, use dedicated ferrules for thermoplastic hoses (R7/R8) without deep internal teeth and fittings adapted for hard plastic cores.
What is the working pressure of the TWIN R8 DN08 hose?
The permissible working pressure of the hose is 350 bar, and its burst pressure is a minimum of 1400 bar (4:1 safety factor).
