The SEMPERIT SM2 DN32/48 sandblasting hose is a heavy-duty discharge hose for transporting highly abrasive materials in abrasive blasting systems. An inner diameter of 32 mm and outer diameter of 48 mm allow for the transfer of abrasive under a working pressure of up to 12 bar. The thick, smooth NR/BR/SBR rubber layer limits wear during contact with sand, shot, corundum, and glass. The antistatic construction and two textile reinforcements meet the requirements for operation in sandblasting systems. The hose is designed to operate at temperatures from -35°C to +80°C.

Application of the SM2 hose for abrasive materials

SEMPERIT SM2 is designed for sandblasting, shot blasting, and conveying highly abrasive materials such as quartz sand, steel shot, corundum, or glass abrasive. It performs well in workshops, metalworking plants, and surface preparation systems before painting or applying protective coatings. The discharge construction is used to transport abrasive material in an air stream; this hose should not be treated as a universal hydraulic hose.

Abrasion-resistant inner layer

The smooth inner layer made of NR/BR/SBR compound is adapted for intensive contact with abrasive. Current manufacturer documentation states an average material wear of 50 mm³ according to DIN ISO 4649:2021. This value describes abrasion resistance in material testing, not the guaranteed durability of the hose in every installation. Actual service life is influenced by, among other things, the type of abrasive, flow velocity, pressure, and the way the hose is routed.

Antistatic construction and SBR rubber cover

The SM2 hose has an antistatic inner and outer layer. This helps to reduce the accumulation of electrostatic charges when conveying bulk materials. Two textile plies reinforce the hose, and the black SBR cover provides resistance to ozone and weather conditions. The antistatic construction does not exempt from the requirements regarding proper grounding, selection of couplings, and safety rules applicable at the sandblasting station.

12 bar pressure, temperature and bending radius

The maximum working pressure is 12 bar, temperature range from -35°C to +80°C, and minimum bending radius 320 mm. Maintaining the permissible radius is important for durability and free flow of the abrasive. A safety factor of 3.5:1 does not mean approval for operation above 12 bar. When selecting a complete set, the parameters of couplings, clamps, and the sandblasting equipment should also be checked.

Installation and ordering hose by the meter

The hose can be connected to appropriately selected fittings using the correct clamp or by crimping, if the given assembly technology is approved for this set. Connections should be secured according to the installation requirements. The hose is offered by the linear meter; the HYDRON website indicates the possibility of ordering full 20 or 40 m rolls and sections cut to request. Sections prepared to an individual length are not subject to standard returns according to the store's terms of sale.
