Description
PREMIUM Sandblast SM2 DN25 1" 15 bar sandblasting hose
The PREMIUM Sandblast SM2 DN25 1" hose is a specialized conduit designed for transporting highly abrasive materials used during sandblasting and abrasive blasting. The DN25 variant has an internal diameter of 25 mm, an external diameter of 39 mm, and operates at pressures up to 15 bar. The antistatic construction, abrasion-resistant inner layer, and double textile reinforcement ensure the hose is prepared for intensive work with media such as quartz sand, steel shot, corundum, or glass.

Hose designed for highly abrasive materials
Sandblast SM2 is not an ordinary transport hose. The inner layer has been prepared to work with materials that exert intense influence on the surface of the conduit during flow. The catalog data sheet indicates use with, among others, quartz sand, steel shot, corundum, and glass.
As a result, the conduit can be used in sandblasting installations and abrasive blasting equipment, where internal wear resistance has a direct impact on durability and operational safety.
Abrasion resistance confirmed by the wear parameter
One of the most important parameters of this hose is the abrasion resistance of the inner layer. According to the catalog data sheet, the average material wear of the inner layer is 60 mm³ according to DIN ISO 4649:2021.
In practice, this is crucial information when selecting a hose for work with aggressive abrasives. The more demanding the medium and the more intensive the operation, the greater the importance of the rubber quality located directly in the flow zone.
Antistatic construction for work during sandblasting
During the flow of dry abrasive, electrostatic charges can be generated. For this reason, the Sandblast SM2 hose has an antistatic construction on both the internal and external sides.
This solution limits the accumulation of electrostatic charges during the transport of abrasive media and is an essential construction element for conduits intended for sandblasting applications.
Construction of the PREMIUM Sandblast SM2 hose
The inner layer is made of an NR/BR/SBR mixture. It is black, smooth, antistatic, and abrasion-resistant. This is the part of the hose that remains in direct contact with the abrasive.
The reinforcement consists of two textile layers. The outer layer made of SBR is black, antistatic, and resistant to ozone and atmospheric conditions. The external surface has a fabric impression.
Why is DN25 1" a popular size in sandblasting installations?
The internal diameter of 25 mm provides a relatively large transport cross-section, which is why the DN25 variant can be used where efficient flow of the air and abrasive material mixture is required.
When selecting the diameter, however, one must consider the parameters of the entire system, including compressor capacity, type of abrasive, installation length, and sandblasting nozzle diameter. A conduit that is too small can restrict flow, while over-sizing the installation will not always produce the expected effect.
15 bar maximum working pressure
For the SBT25SM2 variant, the catalog data sheet specifies a maximum working pressure of 15 bar and a safety factor of 3.5:1. These parameters refer to the hose itself used in accordance with its intended purpose and the manufacturer's requirements.
A complete sandblasting set should always be assessed as a whole. Couplings, clamps, nozzles, and other elements must be adapted to the parameters of the installation.
Operating temperature from -35°C to +80°C
The hose can operate in temperatures from -35°C up to +80°C. Such a wide range allows it to be used in various operating conditions; however, the temperature of the medium and environment should not exceed the values specified in the documentation.
Minimum bending radius 250 mm
For DN25, the minimum bending radius is 250 mm. This parameter should not be ignored when routing the conduit across the workstation.
Bending it too tightly can cause cross-section deformation, impede the flow of abrasive material, and lead to accelerated hose wear. Kinks directly at the couplings should be specifically avoided.
What to look out for during operation?
- do not exceed the maximum pressure of 15 bar,
- maintain a minimum bending radius of 250 mm,
- regularly inspect the external surface of the conduit,
- pay attention to unusual signs of wear and localized damage,
- select couplings appropriate for the diameter and application of the hose,
- replace the hose if damage is found that could affect operational safety.
Wear control is of particular importance with abrasives
Materials transported during sandblasting wear the hose primarily from the inside, so the absence of visible external damage does not always mean that the hose has retained its original wall thickness.
The technical sheet recommends regular inspection of products for safe operation and immediate replacement if damage to the outer layer or unusual signs of wear are found.
Standard EN ISO 3861:2021
The Sandblast SM2 hose is defined in the documentation as compliant with the EN ISO 3861:2021 standard regarding rubber hoses used for sandblasting and abrasive blasting.
For the user, this means that the product construction was developed specifically for the requirements of this application group, and not as a universal rubber hose used incidentally for transporting abrasive.
What to check before purchasing?
- whether the required size is DN25 / 1",
- whether the working pressure of the installation does not exceed 15 bar,
- whether the minimum bending radius of 250 mm corresponds to how the conduit is routed,
- whether the external diameter of 39 mm fits the planned couplings and mounts,
- whether the conduit will be used with materials intended for sandblasting hoses,
- whether the length of the conduit will not cause excessive losses in the installation.
