The air must be clean (provided by filters) and dry (water separators). Furthermore, due to the nature of the work, often e.g. impact wrenches are heavily used and lubrication is required. To avoid the need for continuous disassembly of the tool for this purpose, most of them feature special lubricating mechanisms where oil is supplied together with the supply compressed air. For this purpose, so-called lubricators are used, which dose the appropriate amount of the mixture.
