GEKA CLAW COUPLINGS FOR WATER AND AIR
What are claw couplings?
GEKA brass couplings are high-quality connection components designed for fast and reliable joining of hoses in various systems. Made of durable brass, they are characterized by corrosion resistance and longevity. GEKA fittings are available in rigid versions and versions with 360-degree rotation capability (swivel couplings). The advantage of claw couplings is the very simple installation consisting of twisting the connectors (no tools or wrenches are needed). We offer brass couplings or cast iron couplings.
Why are claw couplings called GEKA?
The name GEKA comes from the German company that was the first to introduce and patent this characteristic claw system for connecting hoses. GEKA® was a pioneer in designing and manufacturing these couplings, which quickly gained popularity due to their simplicity and reliability. Over time, the name GEKA became synonymous with this type of coupling, even if they are produced by other manufacturers.
History and popularity of GEKA couplings
Recognition: Thanks to high quality and universality, GEKA couplings have gained recognition in various industries, from gardening to heavy industry. Over time, the claw design became a standard, and the name GEKA entered common use as a term for this type of coupling, regardless of the manufacturer. Synonym of simplicity: The characteristic design allows for connecting two elements by a simple 90-degree turn, which was revolutionary compared to other, more complicated coupling systems.
Characteristics of brass claw couplings
GEKA couplings stand out for their ease of assembly and universal applications. Their design allows for quick hose connection without tools, which significantly speeds up work. The brass they are made of ensures resistance to mechanical damage and atmospheric conditions. Additionally, these couplings are compatible with various types of hoses, making them a versatile solution in many industries.
Application of claw couplings
Thanks to the unique claw design, they enable instant connection of two hoses, which is extremely useful in many industrial and domestic applications. GEKA brass couplings fit hoses: industrial, pressure, air hoses, water hoses, mortar hoses, suction hoses. Suitable for many applications: construction, road and underground construction, industry, environmental techniques, crafts, sewage, garden construction, landscape restoration, agriculture, and forestry. One of the most popular applications of this type is sandblasting and plastering - claw couplings are used for quick connection of lines for sandblasting, plastering, etc. GEKA couplings find wide application in various sectors such as: Construction: Ideal for connecting hoses in irrigation systems or during construction work. Industry: Used in pneumatic and water installations where quick hose configuration changes are required. Gardening: Facilitate connecting garden hoses, providing a tight and durable connection. Crafts: Indispensable in workshops where there is a frequent need for quick connecting and disconnecting of hoses.

Claw couplings intended for hoses
GEKA claw couplings are designed for the instant connection of two hoses. The couplings are ideal for industrial, air, garden, and household hoses. The coupling allows you to connect and disconnect devices instantly, without wasting time! No wrenches are needed for assembly and disassembly! Simply twist the couplings manually into each other's claws. The fittings are made of the highest quality brass, which ensures exceptional strength and resistance to weather conditions. The couplings allow for work at both very low and high temperatures! Capability to work under pressure up to 40 bar! NBR seals provide excellent tightness. NBR (NITRILE BUTADIENE – ACRYLONITRILE RUBBER) is a material resistant to oils, greases, and fuels. The seal is flexible, does not deform under compression, and is resistant to high temperatures (from -30C to +100C)
Technical parameters of claw couplings:
- Material: brass (standard)
- Working pressure max 40 bar
- Burst pressure 80 bar
- Operating temperature from –30 to +100 C
- NBR seal
- extremely easy to install
- capability to work under 40bar pressure
- resistance to weather conditions
Claw quick couplings
Why is a claw coupling called a claw quick coupling? A claw coupling is a special type of connector used, among others, in compressed air, water, and industrial installations. Its name comes from its characteristic structure – two elements have so-called claws (lugs) at the ends, which instantly lock after being pushed into each other and turned by a small angle. This ensures the connection is secure, tight, and resistant to disconnection under pressure. The term "quick coupling" comes from the fact that the process of connecting and disconnecting is exceptionally fast – it does not require tools, threading, or repeated tightening of nuts. Literally one 90° turn is enough to connect or disconnect the lines. In industrial and workshop applications, this allows for significant time savings and increased work convenience. In short: "Claw" – from the shape of the ends resembling claws that hook onto each other. "Quick coupling" – from the fast and simple installation method without the use of tools.
Brass quick coupling
A brass quick coupling is a component used in installations for the transmission of water, air, and other working media, allowing for fast and tight connection of lines without the use of tools. In practice, it is used in garden, industrial, and construction systems where connection durability and resistance to intensive use are important. Couplings of this type, including GEKA solutions, complement installations based on pneumatic fittings and working lines used in various industries. The quick coupling design is based on a body made of brass, which ensures resistance to corrosion, mechanical damage, and weather conditions. The claw system enables quick and secure connection of two elements by pressing and turning, which guarantees stability and tightness even under variable working conditions. Combined with elements such as hydraulic hoses or water lines, it creates a durable and functional medium transport system. In practice, a brass quick coupling is used in water installations, irrigation systems, construction, and industry, where quick connection and disconnection of lines are required. It ensures tightness, limits medium losses, and shortens installation maintenance time. Correct selection of the coupling eliminates leakage problems and speeds up work in environments requiring frequent configuration changes.
