Description
Smooth PTFE Hose DN10 -60°C to +260°C 183 bar
Smooth PTFE Hose DN10 is a Teflon hose for transporting media requiring high chemical and thermal resistance. It has an internal diameter of 10 mm (3/8"), a working pressure of 183 bar, and an operating temperature from -60°C to +260°C. The smooth polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) core facilitates flow and limits the accumulation of impurities. An external AISI 304 stainless steel braid reinforces the hose during pressurized operation. At high temperatures, the allowable working pressure must be appropriately reduced.
Key technical parameters
- Type: smooth PTFE hose, with stainless steel braid.
- Internal diameter: 10 mm (DN10, 3/8").
- External diameter: 12.6 mm.
- Working pressure: 183 bar (18.3 MPa).
- Operating temperature: from -60°C to +260°C.
- Minimum bending radius: 127 mm.
- Core: polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), smooth.
- Reinforcement: AISI 304 stainless steel braid.
- Safety factor: 4:1.
- Unit weight: 0.152 kg/m.
- Catalog code: GSSV10-0B01.
- Sales unit: linear meter.
Application of the PTFE DN10 hose
Due to the wide temperature range and PTFE's resistance to most common chemicals, the hose is used for transferring steam, adhesives, paints, solvents, oils, fuels, dyes, and appropriately selected chemical and food substances. It can be used in dosing installations, production equipment, technological lines, and transmission systems.
In the case of steam, it is necessary to confirm the permissible pressure and temperature for the complete hose assembly. Applications involving direct food contact require confirmation of the appropriate approvals for the specific hose and its fittings. Chemical compatibility of all system components should be checked before transporting unusual substances.
Smooth PTFE core and AISI 304 braid
Polytetrafluoroethylene is resistant to many acids, bases, solvents, and petroleum products. It also exhibits resistance to UV radiation, oxygen, and ozone. The smooth core wall reduces flow resistance compared to many convoluted hoses and facilitates cleaning. However, there are exceptions to PTFE's resistance, including gaseous fluorine, molten alkali metals, and certain highly reactive fluorine compounds.
A single AISI 304 stainless steel braid handles pressure loads and limits core deformation.
Working pressure and temperature
The nominal working pressure is 183 bar, and the operating temperature range is from -60°C to +260°C. Above +120°C, the allowable pressure must be reduced by 1% of the nominal value for each additional degree Celsius. Therefore, it should not be assumed that 183 bar is available at the maximum temperature. The final parameters of the assembly also depend on the fittings, ferrules, seals, and the type of medium.
Assembly and selection of fittings
Fittings for the PTFE DN10 hose are installed by crimping appropriately selected components. Ferrules and crimping parameters specific to the smooth PTFE core must be used; settings intended for rubber or convoluted hoses cannot be automatically transferred. When routing the hose, avoid twisting and maintain the minimum bending radius of 127 mm. The finished assembly should be checked for leaks.
Why choose the smooth PTFE DN10 hose?

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can the PTFE DN10 hose be used for steam?
Yes, after confirming the permissible pressure and temperature parameters for the finished hose assembly. Compatibility of fittings and seals must also be taken into account.
Is the hose suitable for paints, adhesives, and solvents?
Yes, PTFE can transport many such media. Before use, check the compatibility of the specific substance with the materials of the entire assembly.
Can the PTFE DN10 hose come into contact with food?
PTFE is used in food applications. Direct contact with food requires confirmation of the appropriate approvals for the specific product and the connections used.
Does 183 bar also apply at +260°C?
No. Above +120°C, the maximum allowable working pressure must be reduced. Operating conditions should be selected based on the temperature of the medium and the parameters of the complete hose.
Hoses cut to the customer's request in any quantity (cut hoses are not returnable); returns are only possible for full rolls (quantity per roll? ask the seller). Price per 1 linear meter.
