Description
Convoluted PTFE Hose DN10 -60°C to +260°C 138 bar
The convoluted PTFE hose DN10 is an industrial Teflon hose designed for transporting chemical substances and appropriately selected technological media. The nominal diameter DN10 corresponds to the 3/8" size, and the working pressure is 138 bar. The convoluted polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) core ensures resistance to many aggressive substances and increased flexibility. An external stainless steel braid reinforces the hose during operation under pressure. The temperature range from -60°C to +260°C allows the hose to be used in installations requiring thermal resistance, considering the allowable pressure in actual operating conditions.
Technical parameters of the PTFE DN10 hose
- Type: convoluted PTFE Teflon hose.

Application of the convoluted PTFE DN10 hose
Thanks to the wide temperature range and the resistance of PTFE to many chemicals, the DN10 convoluted hose is used in the chemical, production, and processing industries. It can be used for transferring steam, adhesives, paints, solvents, oils, fuels, dyes, as well as appropriately selected chemical and food substances. The convoluted construction facilitates flexible connections between devices and routing the hose in installations with limited assembly space.
The hose can operate in dosing installations, technological liquid transfer systems, oil systems, and industrial devices. When transporting steam, the allowable pressure and temperature of the complete assembly must be confirmed. Applications requiring direct contact with food must be preceded by verification of the appropriate approvals for the hose and the fittings and seals used.
Convoluted PTFE core and chemical resistance
Polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as Teflon, is characterized by broad chemical resistance. This material is resistant to many acids, bases, oils, fuels, and solvents. It also exhibits resistance to UV radiation, oxygen, and ozone, which is why it is used in installations where traditional rubber hoses may not provide the required material resistance.
The corrugated core increases the hose's flexibility compared to many smooth-wall PTFE hoses. This facilitates assembly on bends and performing short technological connections. However, the convoluted internal surface may increase flow resistance, so the hose length, medium viscosity, and required flow rate should be considered during selection.
The chemical resistance of PTFE does not cover all substances. Particular caution is required for gaseous fluorine, molten alkali metals, and certain highly reactive fluorine compounds, among others. For unusual applications, check the chemical compatibility of the entire hose assembly.
Stainless steel braid
The external stainless steel braid serves as reinforcement for the hose and limits core deformation during operation under pressure. It also provides additional mechanical protection. When used in an aggressive environment, the resistance of the braid should be evaluated separately, as it may differ from the chemical resistance of the internal PTFE layer.
Working pressure 138 bar and temperature up to +260°C
The nominal working pressure of the hose is 138 bar. The hose is designed to work in temperatures from -60°C to +260°C. At elevated temperatures, the allowable pressure may require reduction, so the value of 138 bar should not be automatically assumed for the entire temperature range. Before application, the allowable operating parameters of the hose and the complete assembly with fittings must be established.
Assembly and crimping of fittings
The convoluted PTFE DN10 hose can be used to manufacture hose assemblies with crimped fittings. For assembly, ferrules and fittings compatible with the convoluted PTFE construction should be used. Crimping parameters must correspond to the specific hose and connector combination. Solutions intended for rubber hoses or smooth PTFE hoses should not be automatically applied.
During installation, avoid twisting, stretching, and excessive bending of the hose. The minimum bend radius must comply with the design requirements. The finished assembly should be checked for tightness and suitability for the transported medium, pressure, and operating temperature.
Why choose the convoluted PTFE DN10 hose?
- Working pressure 138 bar.
- Temperature range from -60°C to +260°C.
- Nominal diameter DN10 (3/8").
- Convoluted construction for increased flexibility.
- PTFE core resistant to many chemical substances.
- External stainless steel braid reinforcement.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the convoluted PTFE DN10 hose suitable for steam?
PTFE lines can be used for transferring steam after confirming the allowable pressure and temperature parameters of the complete assembly. Compatibility of the fittings and seals used is also required.
Can the hose be used for paints, adhesives, and solvents?
PTFE is resistant to many paints, adhesives, and solvents. However, before use, the compatibility of the specific medium with the entire hose assembly should be checked.
Can the PTFE hose come into contact with food?
PTFE can be used in food installations, but direct contact with food requires confirmation of the appropriate approvals for the specific hose and its components.
Is the 138 bar pressure valid at +260°C?
It should not be assumed that the nominal pressure of 138 bar applies at the maximum operating temperature. Allowable parameters should be determined considering the temperature and the limitations of the complete assembly.
Hoses cut to customer request for any quantity (cut hoses are not subject to returns); returns are possible only for full rolls (quantity in roll? ask the seller) price per 1 linear meter.
