Description
Smooth PTFE Hose DN08 -60°C to +260°C 207 bar
The smooth PTFE DN08 hose is an industrial Teflon line designed for the transport of chemicals, oils, fuels, and technological media. The internal diameter is 8 mm (5/16"), and the working pressure specified in the product name is 207 bar. The smooth polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) core stands out for its high chemical resistance and low friction coefficient. The outer AISI 304 stainless steel braid provides structural reinforcement for operation under pressure. The temperature range from -60°C to +260°C allows the line to be used in many demanding industrial installations, taking into account the reduction of allowable pressure at high temperatures.

Application of PTFE hose in industrial installations
Thanks to its wide temperature range and resistance to most commonly used chemical substances, the PTFE DN08 hose is used in the chemical, technological, and processing industries. It can be used to transfer steam, glues, paints, solvents, oils, fuels, dyes, and appropriately selected chemical and food substances. The smooth internal surface promotes medium flow and facilitates cleaning of the line.
The line can work in dosing installations, technological liquid transport systems, and connections between industrial equipment. When transferring steam, the allowable pressure and temperature of the finished hose assembly must be confirmed. Use in contact with food requires checking appropriate material approvals and the compliance of all line components with the requirements of a given installation.
Smooth Teflon core and chemical resistance
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), also known as Teflon, is characterized by very wide chemical resistance. It is resistant to the action of many acids, bases, solvents, oils, and petroleum products. The material also exhibits resistance to UV radiation, oxygen, ozone, and light. Thanks to these properties, PTFE lines can be used in installations where traditional rubber hoses do not provide the required resistance.
The smooth internal surface is characterized by a low friction coefficient, ranging from 0.02 to 0.2 for PTFE material. It limits flow resistance compared to many convoluted lines and facilitates the removal of transported medium residues. This is particularly beneficial when transferring paints, glues, dyes, and selected technological liquids.
The chemical resistance of PTFE is not unlimited. Exceptions include, among others, gaseous fluorine, molten alkali metals, chlorine trifluoride, and oxygen difluoride. Before using the line for unusual or highly reactive substances, the chemical compatibility of the entire assembly must be verified.
AISI 304 stainless steel braid
The hose features a single AISI 304 stainless steel braid. The reinforcement limits PTFE core deformation during operation under pressure and provides additional mechanical protection. Stainless steel shows good corrosion resistance in many industrial environments. However, when in contact with aggressive substances, the resistance of the braid, fittings, and other connection elements must also be considered.
Temperature from -60°C to +260°C and working pressure
The operating temperature range of the PTFE DN08 hose is from -60°C to +260°C. The nominal working pressure specified in the product name is 207 bar. At temperatures above +120°C, the allowable pressure should be reduced by 1% of the nominal value for every subsequent degree Celsius. This means that full working pressure cannot automatically be applied across the entire temperature range.
Before using the hose in a high-temperature installation, the allowable operating parameters of the complete assembly must be determined, considering the medium temperature, pressure, and the resistance of the used fittings and seals. Steam installations and systems working with hazardous substances require special attention.
Smooth vs convoluted PTFE hose
PTFE hoses come in smooth and convoluted versions. The smooth core provides more favorable flow conditions and facilitates cleaning of the internal surface. Convoluted construction is usually characterized by greater flexibility, which can be an advantage in installations with limited assembly space.
An alternative construction is convoluted PTFE hose DN08 172 bar. Before choosing, compare the working pressure, bending radius, flow requirements, and fitting compatibility. The smooth and convoluted versions should not be treated as automatically interchangeable.
Fitting swaging and proper assembly
The PTFE DN08 hose is designed for making assemblies with fittings attached by the swaging method on a hydraulic press. Ferrules and fittings designed for smooth PTFE lines must be used, matched to the actual dimensions of the hose and installation parameters. Proper component selection affects the tightness and durability of the finished connection.
During assembly, avoid twisting the line, excessive tension, and bending below the allowable radius. Swaging parameters must comply with the hose construction and the used fittings. The finished assembly should be checked for tightness and suitability for the planned operating conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the PTFE DN08 hose suitable for transferring steam?
PTFE hose can be used to transfer steam after confirming the allowable parameters of the complete assembly. The temperature and pressure of the steam, as well as the resistance of the fittings and seals, must be considered.
Can the PTFE hose be used for glues, paints, and solvents?
Yes, PTFE lines are used for transporting many glues, paints, dyes, and solvents. Before use, check the compatibility of the specific substance and the installation parameters.
Is the PTFE DN08 hose suitable for food substances?
PTFE material can be used in food-related applications. However, direct contact with food products requires confirmation of appropriate approvals for the specific line and the components used.
Is the 207 bar pressure also valid at +260°C?
No. Above +120°C, the allowable pressure should be reduced by 1% of the nominal value for every degree of temperature increase. Operating parameters must be established for the actual temperature of the medium.
Is the PTFE DN08 hose sold by the meter?
Yes. The price applies to one linear meter. The hose can be cut to the length specified in the order. Sections cut at the customer's request are not subject to standard returns.
Hoses cut to customer request in any quantity (cut hoses are not subject to returns) return is possible only for full rolls (quantity in roll? ask the seller) price per 1 linear meter.
