Description
Corrugated PTFE hose DN20 -60°C to +260°C 69 bar
The corrugated PTFE hose DN20 is an industrial teflon hose designed for transferring chemical substances and technological media of varying temperatures. The internal diameter is 20 mm (3/4"), and the nominal working pressure is 69 bar. The corrugated polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) core provides broad chemical resistance and increased bending flexibility. An external, single AISI 304 stainless steel braid reinforces the hose during pressurized operation. The temperature range from -60°C to +260°C allows for use in demanding industrial installations. At elevated temperatures, the permissible working pressure should be appropriately reduced.

Application of PTFE DN20 hose in industry
Thanks to its chemical resistance and wide temperature range, the corrugated PTFE hose DN20 is used for transferring steam, adhesives, paints, solvents, oils, fuels, dyes and appropriately selected chemical and food substances. It can be used in chemical industry installations, dosing systems, technological media transport systems and production equipment. The flexible construction facilitates making connections between installation components.
When used for steam, it is necessary to check the permissible pressure and temperature of the complete hose assembly. The transport of food substances, especially in direct contact with food, requires confirmation of appropriate approvals for the specific hose and its fittings and seals. Before use with an unusual medium, its chemical compatibility with the materials of the entire installation should also be verified.
Corrugated PTFE core and chemical resistance
Polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as teflon, is characterized by resistance to most commonly used chemical substances, including many acids, bases, oils, fuels and solvents. The material is resistant to UV radiation, oxygen, ozone and the effects of light. It also stands out with a low friction coefficient, which is beneficial during the transport of various industrial media.
The corrugated core construction increases the hose's flexibility compared to many smooth-wall PTFE hoses. It makes it easier to route the hose around bends and in areas with limited installation space. However, the corrugated internal surface may cause higher flow resistance, so hose selection should take into account the length of the installation, the viscosity of the medium and the required flow rate.
PTFE resistance does not cover all substances. Exceptions include gaseous fluorine, molten alkali metals, chlorine trifluoride and oxygen difluoride. For particularly reactive substances, the compatibility of the entire hose assembly must be confirmed.
Reinforcement with AISI 304 stainless steel braid
The hose features a single AISI 304 stainless steel braid. The reinforcement limits the deformation of the PTFE core under pressure and provides additional mechanical protection. Stainless steel shows good corrosion resistance in many industrial environments. However, when working with aggressive chemicals, the resistance of the metal braid and connection elements must be considered separately.
Working pressure 69 bar and temperature up to +260°C
The nominal working pressure of the hose is 69 bar, and the operating temperature range is from -60°C to +260°C. At temperatures exceeding +120°C, it is required to reduce the permissible pressure. It should not be assumed that the full pressure of 69 bar can be applied at the maximum temperature. In high-temperature installations, permissible parameters must be confirmed for the actual temperature of the medium and the complete assembly.
Assembly and crimping of fittings
The corrugated PTFE hose DN20 can be used to make complete assemblies with crimped fittings. Ferrules and fittings compatible with the corrugated construction and correct crimping parameters must be used. Elements designed for rubber hoses or smooth PTFE hoses should not be used automatically. During assembly, twisting, stretching and excessive bending of the hose must be avoided, and the minimum bending radius specific to the particular model must be maintained.
Corrugated or smooth PTFE hose?
The corrugated variant is beneficial in installations requiring greater hose flexibility. The smooth version usually provides lower flow resistance and easier cleaning of the internal surface. A construction alternative is the smooth PTFE hose DN20 103 bar. Both variants differ in construction and working pressure, so they should not be treated as direct replacements without checking dimensions and fitting compatibility.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is corrugated PTFE DN20 hose suitable for steam?
The hose can be used for transferring steam after confirming the permissible pressure and temperature of the complete assembly and the compatibility of the used fittings and seals.
Can the hose be used for adhesives, paints and solvents?
Yes. PTFE is resistant to many such substances. Before use, the compatibility of the specific medium with the materials of the entire hose assembly should be checked.
Is the hose suitable for food substances?
PTFE is used in food installations, however, direct contact with food requires confirmation of appropriate approvals for the specific hose and its components.
Is the 69 bar pressure valid at +260°C?
No. At elevated temperatures, the permissible pressure must be reduced according to technical requirements. The 69 bar value cannot be automatically applied at the maximum temperature.
Hoses cut to the customer's request for any quantity (cut hoses are not subject to returns). Returns are possible only for full rolls (quantity in a roll? ask the seller). Price per 1 linear meter.
