Description
PREMIUM Sandblast Hose SM1 DN25 1" 15 bar
The PREMIUM Sandblast SM1 DN25 1" sandblasting hose is a professional-grade hose designed for transporting highly abrasive materials during sandblasting, shot blasting, and other abrasive blasting processes. The DN25 version offers a large flow cross-section, and the four-layer textile reinforcement increases the hose's resistance to kinking during intensive work. The antistatic, abrasion-resistant inner layer is designed for transporting materials such as quartz sand, steel shot, corundum, and glass.

SM1 hose for intensive sandblasting
Sandblast SM1 was developed for working with media that cause very rapid wear of ordinary rubber hoses. The air stream carrying sharp abrasive grains constantly impacts the inner surface of the hose, which is why its resistance is crucial for the hose's lifespan.
In SM1, the average wear of the working layer is 36 mm³ according to DIN ISO 4649:2021. This parameter allows for assessing the abrasion resistance of the rubber compound and is one of the most important features when choosing a hose for professional sandblasting.
Four textile layers-why such strong reinforcement?
The SM1 version utilizes four layers of textile reinforcement. This construction increases the stability of the hose and its resistance to kinking during operation.
This is particularly important in the DN25 size, as a 1" diameter hose often works on longer sections between the sandblasting machine and the workstation. The hose is then frequently moved, rotated, and laid on the ground.
Antistatic design during abrasive transport
The flow of dry abrasive material can cause the buildup of electrostatic charges. For this reason, Sandblast SM1 has an antistatic construction that limits their accumulation during operation.
The inner layer is made of a NR/BR/SBR blend; it is black, smooth, abrasion-resistant, and electrically conductive. The outer SBR layer is resistant to ozone and atmospheric conditions.
DN25 1" larger cross-section for sandblasting installations
The DN25 size corresponds to a nominal diameter of 1". A larger cross-section can be beneficial in installations requiring appropriate air and abrasive flow; however, the hose diameter should not be selected in isolation from other system components.
Before choosing, it is worth considering compressor performance, nozzle diameter, hose length, and required process parameters. A narrow or overly long hose can cause additional flow losses.
Minimum bending radius approximately 254 mm
For the 1" variant, the minimum bending radius is approximately 254 mm. The hose should not be routed along a curve smaller than specified by the manufacturer or kinked directly behind the coupling.
A bend that is too tight can change the internal cross-section of the hose, restrict flow, and cause localized acceleration of wear.
What materials is the SM1 designed for?
The hose is designed for conveying highly abrasive media used in blast cleaning. Documentation indicates, among others:
- quartz sand,
- steel shot,
- corundum,
- glass,
- other abrasive materials suitable for this type of hose.
15 bar maximum working pressure
The SM1 hose operates at a maximum pressure of 15 bar. The safety factor of the design is 3.5:1.
However, the hose parameter does not automatically mean the allowable pressure for the entire set. Couplings, holders, the nozzle, and other installation components must also be selected for the required working conditions.
SM1 or SM2-which hose to choose?
SM1 is a four-layer construction with very high abrasion resistance of the inner layer. It works particularly well where the hose is used intensively and resistance to kinking and long-term transport of aggressive abrasive is important.
SM2 is also a professional sandblasting hose, but it uses a different reinforcement construction and has different wear resistance parameters. Therefore, the choice should not be made based solely on the DN diameter.
Hose inspection during use
A sandblasting hose wears out primarily from the inside. Therefore, the external surface may still look correct despite the gradual loss of material from the working layer.
The hose should be inspected regularly, paying attention to localized deformations, unusual softness, surface damage, abrasions, and other signs that may indicate progressive wear.
What to check before purchasing a DN25 hose?
- whether the installation requires a DN25 / 1" diameter,
- whether the working pressure does not exceed 15 bar,
- whether the available space allows for maintaining a minimum bending radius of approximately 254 mm,
- whether your existing couplings are suitable for the hose's external diameter,
- whether the compressor's capacity matches the hose diameter and the nozzle used,
- whether the transported medium is intended for use with a sandblasting hose.
Sandblasting hose for professional applications
PREMIUM Sandblast SM1 DN25 1" is designed for sandblasting workshops, production plants, companies involved in the renovation of steel structures, and other applications where the hose is regularly exposed to abrasive material flow.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the diameter of the Sandblast SM1 DN25 hose?
