Nylon sandblasting couplings
This is a system of couplings related to couplings with a 58mm claw distance, the head dimensions are always identical so they can be easily connected to each other. Cast iron couplings are very durable, while nylon ones are used mainly due to their low weight. Nylon material is reinforced with synthetic fibers that increase impact resistance. It is recommended to use the DSR automatic safety device. The hose is connected to the coupling by screwing in mounting screws from the outside. Long hose guidance in the coupling guarantees stability. Couplings in this category are designed for connecting a sandblasting hose
What are sandblasting claw couplings ?
Sandblasting claw couplings are specialized connection elements used in pneumatic installations, particularly during sandblasting processes. Their task is to ensure a fast, tight, and secure connection between hoses and devices, which is crucial in environments requiring high resistance to pressure and abrasion. Claw couplings offered by Hydron stand out for their high-quality workmanship, which guarantees their durability and reliability even in difficult working conditions. They are made of materials resistant to sand and other abrasive particles, such as steel or cast iron, often covered with special anti-corrosion coatings. Their design enables quick and secure connection and disconnection, significantly speeding up the process of assembly and disassembly of the installation.
What is a sandblaster and how does it work ?
A sandblaster is a device used for cleaning, smoothing, or preparing the surface of various types of materials through the action of an abrasive material stream ejected under high pressure. This process is called sandblasting and is commonly used in many industries such as manufacturing, construction, restoration, or automotive. A sandblaster uses compressed air to drive fine particles of abrasive material, such as quartz sand, corundum, glass, or steel shot. This stream hits the surface, removing contaminants, rust, paint, or other layers, leaving a clean and matte surface. Types of sandblasters: Sandblasting cabinets: Closed devices with a working window, intended for smaller elements, pressure sandblasters: Large devices used for larger surfaces, ideal for outdoors, siphon sandblasters: Simpler devices, used in smaller projects, mobile sandblasters: Portable solutions for field work.
Application of sandblasting claw couplings
Thanks to their universal application and compatibility with various types of hoses, claw couplings are an integral part of any professional sandblasting installation. These couplings are essential in professional sandblasting setups, such as:
- Renovation and conservation works, where old paint coatings, rust, or contaminants are removed from the surface.
- The metal industry, during surface preparation for further processing, e.g., painting or lacquering.
- The construction industry, where sandblasting concrete or brick allows for refreshing their appearance or preparation for new finishes.

Sandblasting holder
A sandblasting holder, also called a sandblasting nozzle holder, is an essential piece of equipment for every sandblaster and abrasive blasting set. Its task is to stably and tightly mount the sandblasting nozzle at the end of the hose, which guarantees safe, effective, and comfortable work for the operator. Construction and function of the sandblasting nozzle holder: The holder is mounted directly on the sandblasting hose, usually using a claw coupling or a clamp. Thanks to a special design made of abrasion-resistant material (e.g., nylon or reinforced polyamide), the holder provides: stable maintenance of the nozzle even at high working pressure, protection against the nozzle being pulled out or moving during operation, a comfortable and secure grip for the operator, and quick assembly and disassembly when replacing the nozzle. Depending on the hose diameter and the type of sandblaster, various types of holders are available, adapted to standard nozzle diameters and claw coupling spacings (e.g., 58 mm).
Application of the sandblasting holder
The nozzle holder is used in sandblasting installations where high precision and work safety are required. It is used, among others, in: equipment for sandblasting steel structures, rims, bodywork elements, restoration of monuments and cleaning of stone surfaces, shot blasting and pressure cleaning systems. Thanks to its design, the holder ensures a stable abrasive stream direction and eliminates the risk of uncontrolled nozzle movement, which translates into higher accuracy and work safety.
