Metric BBA run tees asymmetric adjustable tees with metric threads
Metric BBA tees (also called asymmetric adjustable tees or Run Tee fittings) are specialized connection elements used in power hydraulic systems to create branches and change the direction of high-pressure oil flow. They are characterized by a specific, asymmetric design: they have two external threads (male B) and one swivel nut with an internal thread (female A) located on the side of the body. This design allows for direct screwing of the tee to a flexible hose or device body without the need to rotate the entire fitting around its axis. The use of standardized metric threads with a 24° sealing cone (complying with DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1) guarantees the highest level of tightness at operating pressures ranging from 160 to 630 bar. BBA metric tees are produced in light (L) and heavy (S) series, finding wide application in agricultural, construction, forestry machinery, and industrial equipment.
Application and technical characteristics of metric BBA tees
BBA tees with metric threads are designed for flexible construction of pressure lines in areas with limited installation space. They allow for easy setting of the optimal output hose angle before final tightening of the nut.
- Asymmetric B-B-A port arrangement: Two external metric threads and a swivel nut provide versatility during expansion or modernization of the pressure circuit.
- Compliance with DIN 2353 / ISO 8434-1: Standardized 24° sealing cones adapted to work with cutting rings and cones with O-rings (DKOL/DKOS).
- Two pressure series L and S: Availability of light (L – up to 315 bar) and heavy (S – up to 630 bar) variants makes it easier to match the fitting to the pump parameters.
- High mechanical resistance: The free-cutting steel body with a galvanic zinc coating shows full resistance to shocks, vibrations, and corrosion.
- Convenient and fast assembly: The swivel nut prevents twisting of the connected hydraulic hose during tightening.
Why choose metric BBA tees at the HYDRON store?
BBA metric tees supplied by the HYDRON brand are manufactured with strict dimensional tolerances, which guarantees a smooth surface of the sealing cones and an accurate thread profile. Eliminating material stresses prevents body cracking under pressure pulses and reduces the risk of micro-leaks. The use of BBA adjustable tees facilitates orderly routing of hose lines in complex agricultural and construction machinery. For complete equipment and maintenance of the hydraulic system, we recommend additional products from our range, such as flexible hydraulic hoses, matching hose fittings, self-sealing test points and precise test kits.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the difference between a BBA tee and BBB or BAB tees?
A BBB tee has three external (male) threads. A BAB tee has a swivel nut in the middle (on the vertical branch). A BBA tee has a swivel nut on the side of the longitudinal line, which facilitates assembly in the hose axis.
What is the swivel nut in a BBA tee for?
The swivel nut (A) allows the tee to be tightened to an external thread without having to rotate the entire fitting body, allowing for free setting of the side outlet direction.
What is the difference between the light series (L) and the heavy series (S)?
The light series (L) is dedicated to a lower pressure range (up to 315 bar) and has a larger bore diameter. The heavy series (S) has thicker walls and a smaller bore, withstanding working pressures up to 400–630 bar.
Are thread sealants required for the installation of a metric BBA tee?
No. Sealing occurs automatically on the 24° cone when tightening the nut. Do not use Teflon tape or hemp on metric tapered threads.
