Why are BBA tees called asymmetric?

BBA tees are among the basic components used in power hydraulics systems. These are fittings made of high-quality steel that allow for the permanent and tight connection of three hydraulic hoses. Their name – asymmetric tees – results from their characteristic construction, where one of the branches differs from the others. Construction and characteristics of BBA tees: BBA tees consist of three ports: Two ports of the same diameter - male inch threads. The third port is a swivel nut located on the side - hence the designation as an asymmetric tee. Thanks to this design, BBA tees allow for connecting hydraulic system components that require different types of threads. Standard used threads are BSP (British Standard Pipe), guaranteeing excellent fit and tightness in high-pressure systems. Unlike symmetric tees, such as AAA tees, where all ports are identical, BBA tees allow for flexible configuration of hydraulic connections and their adaptation to specific installation requirements.
