BB elbows are threaded hydraulic fittings that allow for connecting lines at a right angle. Thanks to their design, they allow changing the direction of the medium flow in hydraulic systems while ensuring system tightness and reliability. These fittings can come with various threads : metric, inch, JIC, ORFS, BSPT. This type of fitting is most commonly used to connect hydraulic hoses or other components that have a nut and a cone. Elbow fittings are also used in piping and high-pressure systems - wherever a right angle is necessary ( 90° degrees ). This version of the elbow fitting cannot be used for screwing into a cylinder or a distributor because it will not seal it. For screwing into a block or a port, there are adjustable elbow connectors with a seal and washer. 

Elbow, 90-degree hydraulic elbow

A hydraulic elbow (also called a hydraulic bend) is a type of hydraulic elbow fitting in the shape of an arc, used in power hydraulic systems. The name comes from its characteristic elbow-like design, which enables changing the direction of medium flow (most often hydraulic oil) in the system. Hydraulic elbows are used where it is necessary to route lines at an angle, usually 90° or 45°, which allows for optimal hose routing and space-saving in the installation.

Construction of 90° BB elbow fittings 

BB elbows are most commonly made of carbon steel coated with an anti-corrosion layer, which ensures durability and corrosion resistance in harsh working conditions. They can have metric or inch threads, compliant with DIN 2353, SAE J1453 (ORFS), JIC 37° or BSP/NPT standards, which allows for their versatile use in various hydraulic systems. Standard working pressures for these components reach up to 630 bar in the heavy version (S series)
