Straight bulkhead connectors ( long )

Bulkhead fittings, long fittings with locknut

Bulkhead connectors is a category of straight fittings, which are extended on one side. These fittings are intended, among others, for screwing /  fixing to sheet metal or another element. Bulkhead fittings have a standard length thread on one side and a long thread with a locknut.  Bulkhead fittings are used for mounting on bulkheads, walls, mounting hoses, valves, etc. This type of fitting is also a good alternative if we need to extend an element. Bulkhead fittings in Poland are also known as : Bulkhead fitting body for screwing.

Types of offered bulkhead fittings:

  • Metric bulkhead fittings
These fittings have metric threads, which are widely used in hydraulic and industrial installations. They provide precise connections in systems based on metric standards.

  • BSP inch bulkhead fittings
With thread BSP (British Standard Pipe), popular in many hydraulic applications worldwide. BSP threads are widely used in Europe and are ideal for applications requiring high tightness and durability.

  • BSP/M bulkhead fittings (inch-metric)
A combination of two standards – BSP and metric threads. BSP/M fittings allow for connecting installations with different thread types, making them exceptionally versatile and flexible.

  • BSP/ORFS bulkhead fittings
These fittings offer a combination of BSP and ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal), which guarantees excellent tightness and resistance to high pressure. Ideal for applications requiring maximum tightness, such as power hydraulics.

  • JIC (UNF) bulkhead fittings
Fittings with thread JIC (Joint Industry Council) with a fine thread pitch of type UNF (Unified National Fine). Popular in hydraulic systems, especially in North America, they are characterized by high leak resistance and simplicity of assembly.

  • ORFS bulkhead fittings
ORFS (O-Ring Face Seal) is a connection system guaranteeing exceptional tightness, even at high pressures. These fittings are commonly used in the most demanding industrial applications, such as heavy equipment or construction machinery.

Where are bulkhead fittings used ?

Bulkhead fittings find application in numerous industries where durable and tight connections are required: Hydraulic industry: In high-pressure installations where connection through structural partitions is required. Agricultural and construction machinery: In excavators, loaders, and combines with hydraulic systems. Petrochemical industry: In pipelines and liquid transport systems. Agriculture : agricultural machinery and equipment. Bulkhead connectors are used wherever it is necessary to mount a connector through a wall or other element. Connectors are also used to extend an existing installation.

Advantages of our bulkhead fittings:

High-quality workmanship: Fittings made of durable materials resistant to pressure, corrosion, and other adverse environmental factors. Wide range of threads: Metric, BSP inch, BSP/M, ORFS, JIC (UNF) – you can easily match the fittings to any installation. Versatility of applications: Thanks to various thread types, our bulkhead fittings will work in different hydraulic systems, both industrial and mobile. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the full range of bulkhead fittings in our store. Regardless of the installation needs, our bulkhead fittings will provide durability, reliability, and excellent tightness in every hydraulic application.

Bulkhead connector, what is it and what is it used for ?

In the power hydraulics industry, the term 'bulkhead fitting' is very common. It is a colloquial name for a bulkhead connector, i.e., a special, elongated fitting equipped with a locknut, which allows for mounting the element in a bulkhead wall, machine housing, or other partition surface. Thanks to this solution, a stable, tight, and durable transition of a hydraulic hose through a partition can be achieved. Why is the bulkhead connector so popular ?  The popularity of these types of elements results from their versatility and simplicity of assembly. The bulkhead connector allows for the safe routing of a hydraulic installation in places where rigidity and vibration resistance are required. The locknut provides solid immobilization of the fitting, which eliminates the risk of the connection loosening during system operation.

Application of bulkhead connectors

Bulkhead connectors, also known as 'bulkhead fittings', are used in: power hydraulics systems, industrial installations, agricultural and construction machinery, mobile devices, where hoses must pass through structural partitions. Their presence significantly increases the safety and durability of the entire installation, and thanks to the use of high-quality materials, they are resistant to pressure, mechanical damage, and external factors.

Bulkhead nipple - what it is and where it is used

A bulkhead nipple is an element used in power hydraulics to safely and tightly pass hoses through walls, partitions, machine housings, and mounting plates. Its construction allows for permanent seating of the connector in the partition and creating a stable connection on both sides, without the risk of the hose moving during system operation.  A typical bulkhead nipple has threads on both sides and a surface allowing for mounting in a through hole, often using a locknut. Such a solution allows for quick assembly and disassembly of the installation, while ensuring high resistance to vibration, working pressure, and variable operating conditions. In practice, a bulkhead nipple acts as a technological transition that organizes the installation and increases its reliability. Bulkhead fittings are used in hydraulic systems of industrial machines, hydraulic power units, lubrication systems, mobile installations, and specialized build-ups where hoses must be aesthetically and safely routed through housing walls. Thanks to them, it is possible to maintain the tightness of the system even during intensive work and high loads. Choosing the right bulkhead nipple allows matching the connection to a specific thread type, hose diameter, and partition thickness. Solutions of this type are particularly valued in professional hydraulic installations where durability, ease of service, and high standard of workmanship of the entire system count.
