STRAIGHT ADAPTERS AB INCH-METRIC

Straight swivel adapters AB ( inch-metric ) High-pressure connectors designed for use in high-pressure systems. AB adapters have a swivel nut (A) on one side and an external thread (B) on the other side. Nut with an inch thread, external thread metric. Execution : high-quality free-cutting steel covered with zinc protecting against corrosion.

Application :

AB adapters with mixed threads are used when it is necessary to change the thread in a hydraulic system. A thread change is sometimes necessary to connect another component. Swivel reducing adapters allow any thread change on an already existing system ( e.g. on a hose )

We offer various versions of AB adapters

  • with metric threads
  • inch
  • jic
  • metric-inch
  • bsp/jic
  • and others

Straight adapters AB, universal screw-in connections with nut and external thread

Straight adapters AB are specialized power hydraulics connection elements, combining in one body a swivel nut with an internal thread (side A) and an external connection thread (side B). They are used for direct screwing into the bodies of pumps, distributors, cylinders, and valve blocks, enabling simultaneous connection with hoses or pipes of various thread standards. Made of high-grade free-cutting steel with anti-corrosion protection, it guarantees full system tightness at working pressures reaching 315–630 bar. The availability of variants with ED sealing, O-ring, or on a cone (24°, 60°, 74°) allows for problem-free reduction and adaptation of various threaded systems. They are widely used in agricultural, construction, forestry machinery and industrial installations.

Application and technical characteristics of straight adapters AB

Straight adapters AB are designed to create durable and leak-free connections in places where a change of thread type or connection of the device body with a nut-type installation element is required. The design of the swivel nut (A) prevents the twisting of flexible hydraulic hoses during assembly.

  • Connection type A-B: Swivel nut with internal thread (A) on one side and external thread (B) on the other side of the body.
  • Innovative face seals: Versions screwed into the body are equipped with an ED elastomeric seal or an O-ring with a washer, which eliminates the need for Teflon tapes or sealing glues.
  • Wide selection of thread combinations: Adapters are available connecting metric threads (DIN 2353), inch BSP (BS 5200), American JIC (UNF / SAE J514), and flat-sealed ORFS (ISO 8434-3).
  • High pressure strength: Forged galvanized free-cutting steel withstands working pressures ranging from 160 to 630 bar depending on the series (LL, L, S).
  • Anti-corrosion protection: Zinc coating with passivation protects elements against harsh weather conditions, moisture, and workshop chemicals.

Why choose straight adapters AB from HYDRON?

Straight adapters AB offered in the HYDRON store meet rigorous industrial standards ISO 8434, DIN 2353, and BS 5200. Precise grinding of the sealing cone surfaces and accurate thread pitch eliminate the risk of micro-leaks and prevent the system from unsealing under the influence of vibration and hydraulic shocks. A wide range of reduction sizes allows for connecting unusual components without the need for several adapters at once, which significantly simplifies the system construction and reduces service costs. For the construction and maintenance of a complete pressure installation, we also recommend flexible hydraulic hoses, matching hose ends, self-sealing test points and diagnostic test kits.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between a straight adapter AB and a standard straight fitting BB?

A straight adapter AB has a swivel nut with an internal thread (A) on one side and an external thread (B) on the other. A BB fitting has external threads on both sides. The AB adapter allows for assembly without rotating the second hose or body.

What does the symbol ED mean in the adapter name?

The ED symbol means an integrated elastomeric ring seal (Eolastic Seal) located on the undercut of the external thread. It provides a face seal for the port in the body without the need for hemp tape or Teflon.

Are straight adapters AB compatible with different types of threads?

Yes, the offer includes reducing adapters connecting metric threads with inch BSP, as well as JIC (UNF) or ORFS, allowing for a smooth transition between different industrial standards.

What working pressure do straight adapters AB withstand?

Depending on the nominal diameter and series (L – light, S – heavy), the permissible working pressure ranges from 160 bar for large diameters to 630 bar for small-sized heavy series.
