Straight rotary joints

Rotary joints for power hydraulics. A hydraulic rotary joint ( called a swivel joint or rotating joint ) is a connector that allows one side to rotate around its own axis. This type of joint is designed for installation wherever continuous rotational movement or swinging oscillations occur between individual parts of the system. The rotary joint prevents twisting of the hydraulic hose thereby preventing damage and failure. Construction of a rotary joint : the joint is a single body with an internal thread on one side ( BSP internal thread ) and a rotating part with an external thread ( BSP ) on the other side with a 60-degree cone ( typical for inch connectors ) The joints are also available in an elbow version (connections located at a right angle)

Application of rotary joints

What are hydraulic rotary joints used for ? Hydraulic rotary joints are specialized components of hydraulic systems that allow for free rotation of hydraulic hoses without disrupting the flow of the medium. They are used in systems where rotational movement or the need to change the position of hoses under pressure occurs. They are most commonly used in: Construction and agricultural machinery – they allow free movement of arms, booms, and other moving elements without the risk of damaging hydraulic hoses. Industrial production systems – e.g., in CNC machine tools, assembly lines, and automatic devices where continuous rotation of elements under pressure is necessary. Power hydraulic systems – used in cranes, overhead cranes, and forestry machinery that require flexible hydraulic oil delivery to moving parts. Transport and rotary systems – used in belt conveyors, rotary tables, and handling systems. Marine and offshore equipment – where resistance to extreme conditions and dynamic loads in hydraulic deck systems is required.

What do rotary joints prevent ?

The use of rotary joints in hydraulic systems brings numerous benefits, eliminating hazards resulting from movement and stress in hoses: Preventing twisting and damage to hydraulic hoses – the rotation of the joint allows for free movement of hoses, eliminating the risk of their twisting, which could lead to their bursting and leakage. Reducing mechanical stress – they reduce stress caused by dynamic hose movements, which extends the life of the entire hydraulic system. Minimizing hydraulic leaks – thanks to precise sealing and elimination of stress, rotary joints help maintain high system tightness, which translates into greater work efficiency. Improving safety – reducing the risk of failures resulting from hose bursts increases work safety in hydraulic systems, especially in heavy machinery and high-load systems. Increasing design flexibility – they allow for freer design of hydraulic systems, enabling their better adaptation to specific working conditions. Thanks to rotary joints, hydraulic systems can operate more reliably and efficiently, which is crucial in demanding industrial and mobile applications.
