A hydraulic cap is an element intended for closing openings, but unlike a hydraulic plug, it usually has an internal thread and is screwed onto the threaded end of a hydraulic component. It can also have a push-in design, used for threadless nipples. A blanking plug is a broader concept and can refer to both hydraulic plugs with external threads and caps with internal threads. Its main task is to completely shut off the flow and secure the opening.
