METRIC FITTINGS DKL90

Metric elbow fittings for hose crimping without O-ring !

Metric DKL90 (P12) elbow fittings bent at a 90-degree angle. Also designated as P12 fitting. These fittings were one of the most popular fittings for hydraulic hoses. Currently, the fittings have been replaced by fittings with an O-ring.  DKL90 fittings do not have an O-ring, therefore they can be used for hose connections where the medium is corrosive or there is high temperature. Universal 90 elbow fitting working with 24° and 60° degree cone seats according to PN-65/M-73141, PN-65/M-73140, DIN 3901, DIN 3902. The connection seal is based solely on the conical contact (24° angle). DKL fittings come in straight, 90° degree, 45° degree versions. For connecting fittings of this type, we use standard metric connectors.

DKL 90 metric

Metric fittings DKL 90° P12, light hydraulic elbow fittings with a spherical seat

Metric fittings DKL 90° from the P12 series are universal elbow fittings commonly used in power hydraulics and pneumatics systems. They are characterized by a 90-degree bend and an internal metric thread with a swivel nut. The sealing design is based on a spherical seat, which works perfectly with 24° and 60° cone seats according to PN-65/M-73140, PN-65/M-73141, DIN 3901, and DIN 3902 standards. The absence of an elastomeric O-ring sealing ring makes these elements excellent for installations operating at elevated temperatures, where soft sealing could undergo accelerated degradation. P12 series elements find wide application in agricultural machinery, construction equipment, commercial vehicles, and industrial devices.

Application and technical characteristics

The 90° DKL P12 elbow fittings were designed for routing flexible pressure lines in places with very limited assembly space. The elbow construction prevents kinking and damage to the hoses, ensuring free flow of the working medium without undesirable pressure drops.

  • Sealing universality: The spherical seat works with 24° and 60° cone seats, making the connector an extremely universal component in service and production work.
  • Light version (DKL): Suitable for standard operating pressure ranges in power hydraulics, providing optimal parameters while maintaining a compact design.
  • Wide dimension range: Available for nominal hose diameters from DN05 (3/16") to DN40 (1.1/2") with metric threads from M10x1 to M52x2.
  • Thermal resistance: The metal-to-metal connection without an O-ring is adapted for operation in difficult thermal conditions, preventing leaks due to seal burnout.
  • Material durability: Production from 11SMnPb37 free-cutting steel covered with electro-galvanized zinc with white passivation ensures resistance to corrosion, mineral oils, glycols, and water.

Why choose HYDRON components?

Fittings supplied by the HYDRON brand meet strict technological rigor standards of DIN and ISO, which guarantees full dimensional repeatability and thread accuracy. The precisely made spherical seat profile ensures perfect adhesion to the connection cone, eliminating micro-leaks even under continuous installation vibrations. The use of high-grade weldable and bendable materials allows for safe operation in difficult environmental conditions. To create a complete pressure hose, it is recommended to use matching products from our offer, such as flexible hydraulic hoses, resistant crimping sleeves and professional hose crimping machines.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between a DKL 90° fitting and a DKOL 90° fitting?

The DKL 90° P12 fitting seals exclusively through direct contact of the metal spherical seat with the cone of the socket (24° or 60°). The DKOL 90° P52 fitting has an additional rubber O-ring seal on the 24° cone. The DKL version without an O-ring is used in systems with elevated operating temperature where rubber could melt or harden.

What sockets do DKL 90° P12 fittings work with?

Thanks to the spherical seat construction, the DKL 90° fitting is a universal solution and connects with metric sockets with 24° and 60° cones, made according to DIN 3901 and DIN 3902 standards.

Is the DKL 90° fitting suitable for multi-braid hoses?

The tail morphology of the DKL P12 fitting is adapted mainly for single-braid (1SN) and double-braid (2SN, 2SC) hoses. For four-braid hoses like 4SP or 4SH, special reinforced interlock fittings are used.

How to correctly mount the DKL 90° fitting on a hose?

The fitting is seated inside the cut hydraulic hose and then crimped at the appropriate height using a steel crimping sleeve and a hydraulic crimping machine according to the crimp diameter table.
