AGR (C21) fittings - hose fitting with external thread
AGR, Straight fitting, BSP external thread, 60º cone. Straight fitting with BSP external thread and 60º degree (so-called ball) Fittings intended for crimping on hydraulic hoses. AGR fittings are one of the basic fittings with inch (British) threads. This type of fitting is commonly referred to as GZ (external thread). These fittings are also interchangeably called BSP male inch fittings. AGR fittings connect with DKR (C11) fittings because they have the same type of cone, i.e., 60-degree ball. Construction: zinc-plated free-cutting steel. We also offer inch fittings with external tapered thread (BSPT). There are also AGR-K (G11) fittings with inch thread and flat seal, and AGR fittings intended for hoses used in fuel / oil dispensers. Fittings from this group are also referred to as a nipple with external thread.
AGR straight fittings for hydraulic hose crimping
AGR C21 fittings are hydraulic hose fittings equipped with BSP (British Standard Pipe) external inch threads. They are used for crimping hydraulic hoses in high-pressure systems, ensuring durability and connection tightness. Construction and specification: Shape: Straight connectors with a hose tail on one side and an external thread on the other. Material: Made of high-quality carbon steel, typically coated with an anti-corrosion layer, which increases durability in demanding working conditions. Sealing: The connection is provided by a 60-degree cone. Compliance with BSP standards (ISO 228) guarantees full compatibility with other elements of the hydraulic system. Thread sizes: Available in various sizes from 1/8" to 2" BSP.
What is an external thread?
An external thread is a type of cut on a cylindrical surface that allows connection with elements equipped with an internal thread. It is most commonly found on bolts, pins, and hydraulic fittings used in pressure systems. Its construction is based on a spiral groove running along the external surface, allowing for a stable and tight connection with a compatible element.
What is the difference between an external and internal thread?
The basic difference between these two types of threads lies in their location and function: ✔️External thread is located on the outer surface of the component and is intended for screwing into holes with an internal thread or into fittings equipped with an internal thread, e.g., a nut. Examples include bolts, pins, or hydraulic hose fittings. ✔️Internal thread is cut inside a hole and serves to receive elements with an external thread. Examples of elements with internal threads include nuts, threaded sleeves - couplings, ports in equipment bodies or fittings with DKR internal threads. Thanks to the proper matching of these two types of threads, durable and tight connections can be achieved in various applications, including power hydraulics.
Hose fitting with external thread (GZ)
Hose fittings with external thread, such as AGR C21 fittings, are elements used in hydraulic systems. They allow for easy and safe connection of hoses to other system components, e.g., to DKR fittings with internal thread, valves, manifolds, or other elements equipped with an internal thread. AGR fittings with external thread are characterized by a solid construction, resistant to high pressures and difficult working conditions. Made of high-quality materials, such as galvanized steel, they ensure durability and reliability in demanding industrial applications. Application of fittings with external threads (GZ)
Typical use of fittings is for connecting hydraulic hoses in systems operating under high pressure where BSP inch threads are required. Example applications where this type of fitting is used: Power hydraulic systems. Industrial installations. Construction and agricultural machinery. Due to its popularity, this type of fitting is also used for water hydraulics, pneumatics, and others. Industries where AGR fittings are used: Power hydraulics: Control systems and hydraulic drives, Construction industry: Excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment, Agricultural industry: Tractors, combine harvesters, and soil cultivation machinery, Transport industry: Trucks, semi-trailers.
