2SN hot oil hoses
High-temperature oil hose, high-temperature rubber hoses. 2SN hot oil hoses are used wherever we deal with hot oil or high ambient temperature (e.g., near engines or compressors). Hoses designed for high temperatures are available in two colors: blue and black. The category below includes 2SN high-pressure hoses (hoses with two steel braids inside the hose), which are designed for crimping on a hose crimper. We also offer high-temperature hoses with one steel braid 1SN and very high-temperature hoses such as PTFE hoses ( up to 280 degrees ). As part of our services, we are able to produce / crimp any hydraulic hose ( with any parameters and any threads )
Technical parameters of hot oil hoses:
- temperature range : 40°C to +135°C (momentarily +150°C)
- color: blue or black
- fitting attachment method: crimping on a hose press
- available hose brands: HOT OIL, ULTIMATE, TROPIC, CELSIUS
Construction of a 2SN hose
The 2SN hose is characterized by two layers of steel braid, which provide it with exceptional resistance to high pressure. These braids are placed between layers of synthetic rubber, which additionally protects the hose from mechanical damage and atmospheric factors. Thanks to this construction, the 2SN hose is resistant to abrasion and ozone, making it ideal for applications in difficult conditions.
Application of 2SN hoses in high-pressure systems
2SN hoses are commonly used in heavy industry, agriculture, and construction, where high-pressure fluid transfer is required. They are used in construction machinery such as excavators and loaders, as well as in hydraulic systems of agricultural vehicles. Their resistance to high temperatures and pressure makes them indispensable in applications requiring reliability and durability.
Most common symptoms of 2SN hose wear
Wear of a 2SN hose can manifest as cracks on the rubber surface, resulting from long-term exposure to high pressure and temperature. Another symptom may be a hydraulic fluid leak, which indicates damage to the internal structure of the hose. It is also worth paying attention to changes in the shape or stiffness of the hose, which may indicate excessive wear.
What are ultimate hoses and standard 2SN hoses?
High-end hoses from the ultimate series are a special version of the popular 2SN hydraulic hoses used for high-pressure media transfer. Although at first glance they may look similar to standard 2SN hoses, their technical properties and intended use are optimized for working in more difficult temperature and operating conditions.
Operating temperature
Standard 2SN hoses are designed to operate in the typical range of working temperatures found in typical hydraulic systems. This means they perform excellently in most applications, however, their thermal capabilities are limited to standard parameters defined by norms. Hoses ultimate are characterized by significantly higher thermal resistance. Thanks to the use of special materials and construction, they are able to work at higher temperatures, reaching up to 150 °C, which makes them an ideal choice in installations where elevated system operating temperatures are generated or where environmental conditions are more demanding. In practice, this means greater reliability and a longer service life in thermally stressed applications.
Color and markings
Another visual difference between ultimate hoses and regular 2SN hoses is the color. Standard 2SN hoses most often come in the classic black rubber color, which is commonly seen in the hydraulic industry. Hoses ultimate often have a different external aesthetic or special visual markings (e.g., a more distinct stripe or a different cover texture), which facilitate their quick identification as a product with enhanced thermal and quality parameters. Thanks to this, technicians and users can distinguish ultimate products from standard series at first glance.
Practical application
Thanks to increased thermal resistance, hoses ultimate are particularly recommended where hydraulic systems work near heat sources, in machines with high thermal loads, or in zones where oil temperature can be significantly higher than in typical operating conditions. In practice, this includes industrial machines, work vehicles operating in high ambient temperatures, or installations with intensive work cycles. Standard 2SN hoses, on the other hand, remain a good choice for typical power hydraulics applications where operating temperatures are within normal limits and do not require special thermal parameters.
Summary of differences
In short, the main differences between ultimate and standard 2SN hoses are: hoses ultimate can work at higher temperatures (up to approx. 150 °C), hoses ultimate are visually marked or have different colors for easier identification, hoses ultimate are dedicated to more demanding operating conditions.
