Straight AA swivel nut connectors with BSP threads

Adjustable AA connectors with British BSP inch threads. Straight AA hydraulic connectors are commonly called swivel nut connectors because of the swivel nuts on both sides, which allow the connector to be tightened onto a component with an external thread, e.g. BB BSP connectors or hose fittings with external threads, e.g., AGR. The connectors presented in this category feature two swivel nuts with inch ( British ) BSP. The connectors are available in a standard version with the same thread on both sides or in a reduction version with two different threads. Since the AA connector has two swivel nuts, these connectors are called swivel nut connectors or straight adjustable adapters. Application of AA connectors: these types of connectors are used to extend the hydraulic installation ( lengthening ), create distance, or reduce threads ( in the case of AA reduction connectors ). Connectors are also used to join various installation components. The connectors are also available in a version with one nut and one external thread: straight AB connectors. Alternative designation for straight AA connectors: Straight adapter with double swivel nut - thread BSP parallel; Connector Type: 34.11

Parameters of AA hydraulic connectors

  • Connector type: straight with two nuts
  • Execution: galvanized free-cutting steel.
  • Thread type: British inch BSP
  • Cone type inside the nut 60 degrees

Straight AA BSP inch connectors

Straight AA BSP inch connectors are connection components used in power hydraulic systems to connect hoses and components equipped with BSP standard connections. The AA type design allows for a simple connection of two installation elements without changing the hose routing direction.

These types of connectors are used during the construction of new hydraulic systems, hose assembly, machine modernization, and repairs of installations using BSP inch threads. Individual variants differ in connection size, so the correct component should be selected for both sides of the connection being made.

AA BSP connectors for hydraulic connections

BSP threads are among the commonly encountered connection standards in power hydraulics. They appear in hoses, fittings, valves, manifolds, and other hydraulic system components. When selecting a connector, it is important to correctly identify both the thread size and the sealing method of the mating components.

The straight design of the AA connector works well where both connections are in a single axis. It allows for connecting installation elements without using an elbow or an additional adapter that changes the hose direction.

Where are straight AA inch connectors used?

  • in power hydraulic systems,
  • in hydraulic hoses and pipe systems,
  • in agricultural and construction machinery,
  • in mobile hydraulics,
  • in industrial machines and equipment,
  • during repairs and modernization of installations with BSP connections.

How to choose a straight AA BSP connector?

Before purchasing, the sizes of both connections must be determined. In the case of inch threads, the diameter measured with a caliper alone can lead to incorrect identification. The BSP size designation does not directly correspond to the measured external thread diameter, so the measurement should be compared with the dimension table of the relevant standard.

  • determine the BSP thread standard,
  • check the connection size on both sides,
  • verify the connection sealing method,
  • check the technical parameters of the specific connector,
  • select the component for the mating parts of the installation.

BSP, BSPT and other inch threads - do not confuse the standard

When identifying a connector, attention should be paid to the exact thread type. The BSP and BSPT designations should not be treated as synonyms. In hydraulic installations, there are also other inch standards, including NPT and UNF/JIC, which differ in thread geometry or the way the sealing surface is made.

If you are completing an installation or looking for another type of connection, also check hydraulic connectors available at HYDRON. Selecting the correct standard and size reduces the risk of using incompatible elements.

FAQ - straight AA BSP connectors

What does BSP mean in hydraulic connectors?

BSP stands for a family of inch pipe threads used in hydraulics and industrial installations, among others. When selecting components, the exact thread type and sealing method must also be specified.

Can the BSP thread size be determined with a caliper alone?

Measuring the diameter is helpful, but it should be compared with the dimensions of the appropriate standard. The nominal BSP thread size is not a direct equivalent of its external diameter.

Do BSP and BSPT mean the same thread?

No. When selecting a connector, one must distinguish between the individual BSP thread versions and check which standard is used in the joined components.

How to choose the correct AA BSP connector?

You should check the standard, sizes of both connections, sealing method, and technical parameters of the specific connector variant.
